It opened a path through the boundaries between dimensions and space-time, allowing Chaos, which normally existed only in High-Dimensional Space-Time, to descend into the Material Realm. It then indirectly used Chaos's ability to dissolve anything to wear down the Star Shield!
If they relied solely on bombardment with energy, the energy released by a star would be more than enough to vaporize a planet. But against a Star Shield, that would do little more than consume far greater amounts of energy. Energy Shields were especially effective at protecting against energy attacks—a fact proven by countless examples.
Now they were attacking directly with Chaos. Since it devoured everything, this rule-breaking, formless Chaos airflow consumed enormous amounts of shield energy every second while sustaining its own existence.
The energy shield, which had once been as solid as amber, visibly grew more and more ethereal.
The Dimension Annihilation Cannon had stored energy for several hours, and it was still releasing that energy without pause to maintain a direct connection between the Three-dimensional Universe and High-Dimensional Space-Time, allowing the Chaos airflow to scour the Star Shield.
The results were unmistakable. In just half an hour, even though the Undead Civilization desperately poured more energy into the Star Shield, its glow continued to fade until, at last, the shell-like protective layer vanished entirely.
