As passage after passage appeared, more and more sages emerged on the battlefield. Over the past century, the Empire had cultivated a great many high-level psionicists among both the public and the official ranks. With such a vast population, even the lowest odds added up, and now every year a few lucky individuals
broke through the Transcendence Barrier by their own power and ascended to become sages.
There were even more NPC sages. The 1,000 sages supporting this battle were all dedicated combatants. Thanks to their specialized training, these sages were individually far stronger than their peers. Even when beset by two or three Undead Sages of the same level, they could hold their own for a short time.
Above the Golden Throne, the Emperor had summoned most of the Holy Spirit Angels within the divine kingdom. Together with several participating Star Spirits, they swiftly encircled and suppressed the Undead Sages.
The most numerous group, the NPC sages, had to face three or four times their number in enemies and struggle to hold the line. Just one minute into the battle, the Empire's peak forces were already gradually suppressing their opponents with their formidable individual combat abilities and near-perfect coordination.
Looking down upon the battlefield, the mighty deity occasionally plucked at the Fate Lines, saving Imperial sages who were on the brink of death, but did not personally intervene in the battle again.
This was the first time the Empire's peak forces had faced a powerful enemy on their own level. It was a rare opportunity to train.
Meanwhile, in secret, one Teleportation Gate after another opened aboard the Undead Titan. Fully armed army troops poured out in an endless stream and rapidly spread into the surrounding regions.
This time, it was not the divine kingdom's Heroic Spirit Legion that
