Leng Yaozhu's Arrival [Please Read On]

The Spirit Pagoda's automatic doors slowly opened, and every receptionist held their breath.

The crisp clack of high heels echoed across the floor. In that instant, all the noise in the lobby fell silent.

Following the sound, they saw a slender woman who appeared to be in her early twenties. She wore a well-tailored black uniform that further accentuated her captivating figure.

Her fiery red hair cascaded down her back like flames, making her especially conspicuous as she walked through the lobby.

The newcomer was none other than the Spirit Pagoda's Vice Pagoda Master, Heavenly Phoenix Douluo Leng Yaozhu.

She had come today for one reason only: to take Gu Yue as her disciple. The Phoenix Family had few promising descendants these days and had to draw in other families. Otherwise, they would sooner or later be gradually swallowed up by the Qian Gu Family.

Without saying a word, she swept her gaze across the Spirit Pagoda lobby. Every staff member straightened their backs.

Naturally, the one welcoming her was Xiao Yu, the head of the East Sea Spirit Pagoda branch.

"Greetings, Heavenly Phoenix Douluo!" Xiao Yu said with a respectful bow.

"No need for formalities. I'm not so particular about such things." Leng Yaozhu paid it little mind, her gaze falling upon the ponytailed girl beside him. "You are Gu Yue?"

Gu Yue replied confidently, "Greetings, Your Excellency Sky Phoenix!"

"Just call me Teacher from now on. I don't care for so many formalities!" Leng Yaozhu was very satisfied with Gu Yue. Her soul power had already reached Level 17. She had only cultivated for a year—this hidden family was truly quite formidable!

"Teacher." Gu Yue's voice remained calm. She knew that the first step toward entering the upper ranks of the Spirit Pagoda had been accomplished.

Leng Yaozhu nodded and turned to Xiao Yu. "Is Purple Dragon Douluo in the pagoda today?"

"Your Excellency Sky Phoenix, please follow me." Xiao Yu's voice was calm as he turned and led Leng Yaozhu toward the Soul Spirit Laboratory.

Leng Yaozhu followed behind him and noticed that a little boy was accompanying them as well. His soul power was also at Level 17, yet she had no impression of him whatsoever. Could he be from some great family?

She asked Xiao Yu, who was walking ahead, "Who is that little boy? There is such a talented child in the East Sea Spirit Pagoda, yet no report was submitted?"

"This child is named Li Jinsheng. He possesses Innate Full Soul Power and is an orphan. A report was submitted when his Martial Soul awakened. He has always been raised by our East Sea Spirit Pagoda." Though Xiao Yu belonged to the Qian Gu faction, he still explained with a smile. He glanced at Li Jinsheng as if to say that this was the only thing he could do for him.

"Innate Full Soul Power..." Leng Yaozhu paused slightly, her gaze also landing on Li Jinsheng. He was another genius. He was clearly an unpolished jade, yet those old Qian Gu members of the Spirit Pagoda, clinging to their positions, had allowed this pearl to gather dust.

"What a good child!" Leng Yaozhu smiled brightly. As the laboratory doors opened, she finally met Zi Ji.

The two powerful women began chatting freely after meeting.

Li Jinsheng walked over to Gu Yue's side and quietly said, "Thank you."

He knew that Leng Yaozhu had come to the East Sea Spirit Pagoda because of Gu Yue. Without her, his entry into Spirit Pagoda Headquarters would surely have remained a distant prospect.

"You don't need to thank me. Without your talent and hard work, you wouldn't be able to go to Spirit Pagoda Headquarters either." Gu Yue did not take credit. At most, she had created a small opportunity for Li Jinsheng.

She had watched Li Jinsheng's efforts over this period. He clocked in every day as if he were going to work—except work was not supposed to be enjoyable. Yet this guy could somehow remain relaxed and at ease with such a packed schedule, without falling behind in anything.

"But I still have to thank you." Li Jinsheng's tone was calm, though he had begun to grow curious about life at Spirit Pagoda Headquarters.

The Golden Ancient Tree was the Life Core of Douluo Continent. He wondered whether he would have a chance to see it. At this point in time, the Golden Tree Spirit should still be Elder Jin, rather than the Blue Silver Emperor Ah Yin.

"Enough looking forward to it!" Gu Yue glanced at Zi Ji and Leng Yaozhu conversing in the distance, then asked Li Jinsheng, "I've never asked what your purpose is in cultivating so diligently. Gu Yue found herself liking Li Jinsheng a little more because of his complete lack of reverence for the Sea God. In her eyes, the boy's reflection gained a little more human warmth.

"Then why do you want to keep living? There must be a reason, right?"

"Of course it's to act cool—for even longer!" Li Jinsheng openly admitted his goal, but there was something he did not say aloud.

No one on the Handsome Way has ever become a god. If possible, perhaps I can fill that gap!

Who could say for certain what the future held?

Hearing this wish, Gu Yue could not help grumbling inwardly, He really is just a little brat. Though for a seven-year-old, that does make sense.

She looked at Li Jinsheng and said with a cold laugh, "Sure enough, your thought process is different from normal people's."

Just as her words fell, crisp laughter echoed from the other side of the laboratory.

"You two little ones!" Leng Yaozhu looked warmly at them, her gaze finally settling on Gu Yue's face. "Come with me to Spirit Pagoda Headquarters!"

With that, she strode toward the exit of the Spirit Pagoda on her long, beautiful legs.

Gu Yue bade Zi Ji farewell and followed after her first. Li Jinsheng, meanwhile, stood beside the Xiao Yu he knew relatively well and said, "Thank you, Pagoda Master Xiao..."

"Don't thank me! You're a genius. You shouldn't be trapped in this tiny East Sea. Beyond East Sea lies a far greater world—that is where your talent belongs."

Xiao Yu patted Li Jinsheng on the shoulder and said earnestly, "Cultivate well. Don't waste your talent."

"I'll cultivate diligently!" Li Jinsheng nodded in agreement. As he left, he kept looking back, unsure whether he would ever return.

Watching Li Jinsheng's departing figure, Xiao Yu could not help but smile. "This little fellow has finally gone where he belongs. Only there is the stage where he can truly shine."
