Background

Yu Xiaogang is the son of Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan Patriarch Yu Yuanzhen. His awakening produced the Three-Eyed Demon and only half a rank of innate soul power, destroying the expectations attached to his birth. He rejected repeated test results, lashed out at attendants, and later refused the cultivation resources his father personally secured for him. 4 6

Rather than train consistently after awakening, Xiaogang became increasingly volatile and alienated those around him. Yu Yuanzhen invested major clan resources in him, but the effort failed to resolve his poor foundation or unstable mentality. 4 20

He eventually turned to the clan’s scripture library, studying ancient records and soul beasts in search of a route to strength through theory. His knowledge of obscure soul beasts, including the Devouring Dragon, became one of the few areas in which he could speak confidently. 20

His early Soul Ring choices damaged both his reputation and his martial soul’s potential. His first skill became notorious for its stench-based effect, while a later attempt to imitate Yu Xiaotian’s Devouring Dragon absorption yielded only an enhanced appetite instead of the desired spatial devouring skill. 22 23 27

After his second Soul Ring was exposed as a “hypnotic fart,” Xiaogang could no longer endure the clan’s ridicule. He left behind a letter and fled the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan; Yu Luomian was later revealed to have spread the humiliating information in order to force him out. 69

Outside the clan, Xiaogang identified the soundwave nature of the Soul Breaking Bell and demonstrated an ability to analyze Soul Beasts and their weaknesses. Bibi Dong was impressed enough to travel with him and grant him access to the Martial Soul Hall Library. 72

Devouring Dragon Failure and Demotion

Xiaogang absorbs a thousand-year Devouring Dragon Soul Ring in hopes of gaining Devour Heaven Eat Earth, but receives only an appetite-related effect. Yu Yuanzhen cuts his resources, demotes him to ordinary direct-disciple treatment, and confines him to work in the clan library. 27 28

Attempted Recovery as a Teacher

After seeking Bibi Dong’s help and demanding the Holy Light Glazed Flower, Xiaogang learns that his martial soul’s foundation is considered irreparably damaged. Bibi Dong has him imprisoned and uses the contrast with Yu Xiaotian’s White World life to break his spirit. 76 79

Submission and Renewed Ambition
