The two spoke smoothly. Yang Ning nodded with a grave expression, then turned to Xu Yinyin beside him. "This is an old customer. I need to attend to them."
Xu Yinyin didn't think much of it and nodded. "Then I'll come to work tomorrow."
"Mm, alright."
After receiving Yang Ning's reply, Xu Yinyin gently placed the bag of urea on her shoulder onto the ground. She looked back three times before leaving the premises of the Myriad Things Come shop, her figure gradually disappearing at the end of the bamboo path.
Once Xu Yinyin was far away, the "customer" walked up to Yang Ning's side and lowered his voice. "Tsk tsk tsk, not bad, Old Six~ The Hall Master's prized disciple personally sent you back."
Yang Ning glanced helplessly at the person beside him—the leader of the Sword Sect moles, Deputy Hall Master of the Law Enforcement Hall, Sun Kai (codename: Poison Bee). He was the sixth child Sun Kai had brought out of the camp, which was why he was always called Old Six.
"I took on a job from the Law Enforcement Hall and earned some extra cash."
Sun Kai nodded, pulled out a small porcelain bottle from his embrace, and handed it to Yang Ning.
"What's this?" Yang Ning took the porcelain bottle and examined it closely in his palm.
Sun Kai then took out a cigarette from his embrace, stuck it in his mouth, and channeled a wisp of true qi to his fingertips, igniting a small flame. He took a deep drag, smoke escaping from the corner of his mouth.
"Two days ago, a brother from Dan Peak was captured by mistake. His connection to the talisman on his heart at home (Demonic Cult) was also severed. I suspect Lei Lifeng personally took action. This means that if he's captured, the original talisman is no longer safe."
Sun Kai glanced at the porcelain bottle in Yang Ning's hand. "You need to take an antidote daily, or you'll surely die. If you're captured, at least you won't leak the secrets of the family."
Yang Ning shook the porcelain bottle in his hand. There were quite a few pills inside, nearly a hundred in total. The corners of his lips curled into a bitter smile. "Do I have to take it?"
Sun Kai took another drag from his cigarette. In the swirling smoke, Yang Ning couldn't see his expression clearly. "Don't make things difficult for me. Today, when I delivered medicine to other moles, I didn't tell anyone it was poison... I only told you."
Yang Ning nodded, opened the stopper, and poured some out. Then, he tilted his head back, tossed a pill into his mouth, his throat bobbed, and he swallowed.
"Thanks," Yang Ning handed the medicine bottle back to Sun Kai.
Sun Kai took a deep drag, his eyes narrowed.
"What's there to thank me for? You should hate me. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have come to this Sword Sect and lived with your life on the line every day."
Yang Ning looked at Sun Kai with complex eyes. "This is precisely what I thank you for. At least... I won't have to stay in the Demon Realm forever."
Sun Kai finished his cigarette. He knew about Yang Ning's past experiences in the "camp" and didn't say anything further. He simply dropped the extinguished cigarette butt on the ground and crushed it with his foot. "Speaking of which, even though you didn't have good roots back then, you had a certain bloodline power. Why did it suddenly disappear?"
Seeing Yang Ning's silence, Sun Kai sighed. "Forget it, I'll pretend I didn't ask." He pointed to the bamboo forest ahead. "I'll leave the daily antidote in the bamboo forest over there." With that, Sun Kai strode towards the bamboo path.
"Poison Bee!"
Sun Kai turned around and saw Yang Ning take out a pack of Lanzhou from his embrace and toss it over.
"Pace yourself."
Sun Kai caught the cigarettes, smiled knowingly, waved his hand, turned, and entered the bamboo path, his figure quickly disappearing into the verdant bamboo shadows.
Looking in the direction Sun Kai had gone, Yang Ning unconsciously touched his chest, then his abdomen, and sighed softly.
"Sigh... One problem hasn't been solved, and another has been added."
Then, he flicked his fingers, and a pill appeared in his palm. Although he had just taken the poison, he had poured out an extra pill when emptying the bottle, keeping it as a backup.
Next, Yang Ning bent down, picked up the bag of urea from the ground, turned, unlocked the door, and walked into the Myriad Things Come shop.
The next morning, Qiao Bin, having just finished a night of searching, landed outside the Myriad Things Come shop on his sword as usual.
He saw Yang Ning lying on a sun lounger, wearing sunglasses, with a can of ice-cold cola on the small table beside him.
"Brother Ning, Brother Ning?" Qiao Bin called out softly.
Yang Ning slowly took off his sunglasses and gave Qiao Bin a speechless look. "I was just sleeping."
"Heh heh," Qiao Bin scratched his head sheepishly. "Sorry, Brother Ning, for disturbing your rest."
Yang Ning didn't reply, merely picked up the cola beside him and took a sip through the straw.
"How was it? Any gains within the Law Enforcement Hall?"
Qiao Bin looked around and lowered his voice. "We really found one last night. It was a disciple responsible for clerical work. We found a purple Magic Stone under his bed. He's currently locked up in Zhaoyu Tower."
As he spoke, Qiao Bin took out the phone that Yun Zishan had taken away yesterday and handed it to Yang Ning.
Yang Ning sat up and took the phone. "What? Doesn't your Hall Master use this thing anymore?"
Qiao Bin replied, "This thing is a bit difficult to use and not very convenient. The Hall Master has already re-recorded the confession inside using a Sound Recording Stone. This morning, the Hall Master took the Sound Recording Stone to see the Sect Master, saying they need to conduct a thorough investigation of the entire sect."
Yang Ning glanced back at the shop behind him. "No wonder my business is so bad today. Turns out everyone went back to catch moles."
