"A security camera? What is it used for?" Yun Zishan asked.
Qiao Bin shook his head, bewildered. "This disciple isn't too sure either. Advisor has so many strange objects there; it wouldn't be surprising if there were things we've never seen before."
"Since it belongs to Boss Yang," Shi Xuanfei said from nearby, her voice calm, "Xiaojie, put it back where it was."
Dong Xiaojie answered and leaped up once more, carefully tying the "security camera" back onto its original bamboo branch.
At this point, Shi Xuanfei, Ouyang Biting, and Dong Xiaojie had almost no leads at all. Shi Xuanfei was already considering whether to mobilize Jade Maiden Peak's people to investigate the sect far and wide. After all, the assassination had involved deadly poison; perhaps they could start by asking who had a grudge against Yang Ning.
Meanwhile, Yun Zishan and Qiao Bin relied on the faint traces of footprints that remained to make a rough judgment: whoever had left them was probably quite light. Though the edges of the footprints had been deliberately damaged, the depth of the impressions in the soil still revealed something. The two planned to start by screening the Law Enforcement Hall's own members once they returned, while also investigating the Poison Needle's origins in depth, to see if they could find a breakthrough.
The two groups exchanged glances, both understanding that there was nothing more to be gained by staying here.
"In that case, we'll take our leave first." Shi Xuanfei spoke first, her tone returning to its usual languidness.
Yun Zishan merely gave a slight nod without saying anything.
The two groups then parted ways and went their separate directions.
