History

Past Life and Possession

Tang San was an outer disciple of the Tang Sect in his previous world. As a child, he infiltrated the sect's guarded archive and secretly learned forbidden inner-sect arts, including the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, Mysterious Jade Hand, Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and Purple Demon Eye. When discovered, he showed no remorse and claimed he alone could bring glory to the Tang Sect 28.

After arriving in Douluo Continent, his soul entered the body of Tang Hao and Ah Yin's newborn child and devoured the infant's original soul. The Heavenly Screen publicly identifies this act as body seizure, making him an Otherworldly Soul rather than Ah Yin's true son 26 27.

Shrek Academy

Tang San met Yu Xiaogang at Nuoding City and became his disciple. Although Yu Xiaogang helped him obtain his first Spirit Ring and taught him Soul Master theory, Tang San initially considered killing him after Yu discovered his Twin Martial Souls. He later resented Yu Xiaogang's flawed theories and again concluded that his teacher deserved death for allegedly obstructing his path 29 30.

The Golden Talent Ranking places him fourth and exposes both his possession and his past-life betrayal. Further projections reveal his contempt for Yu Xiaogang, his lack of gratitude, and his future refusal to grant his teacher immortality or bring him to the God Realm 26 28 30. Tang San openly severs their master-disciple relationship, while Shrek Academy expels him and major powers cut ties with him 31.

Exposure of His Schemes

The Sky Screen reveals that Tang San recognized Xiao Wu as a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast and planned to manipulate her into sacrificing herself so he could obtain her Soul Ring and Soul Bone. His projected plans also include exploiting Great Ming and Second Ming and using Martial Soul Hall as a tool in his pursuit of power 31 33 34.

He is also exposed for deceiving Dugu Bo into trusting him, then harvesting every immortal herb at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well for himself and his allies 35. These revelations turn Shrek's students, the Clear Sky Sect, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Heaven Dou Empire, Martial Soul Hall, and the Soul Beast lineage against him 27 31 34.

Conflict over Ah Yin

After Ah Yin is revived and elevated by Gu Nian, Tang San seeks Gu Nian's aid to evolve his own Blue Silver Emperor. He regards Gu Nian's ability to create a God of Blue Silver as a resource he must obtain, even considering the use of Ah Yin's relationship with Gu Nian to force cooperation 39 52.

Tang San and Tang Hao subsequently manipulate the Clear Sky Sect and Shrek Academy into joining their attempt to seize Ah Yin from Gu Nian. He performs filial grief before Tang Xiao and the elders while intending to take Gu Nian's power for himself 53. Ah Yin later identifies him as the soul that killed her true child and promises that he will pay for Tang Hao's debt after Tang Hao's punishment is complete 58 60.

Asura God's Chosen Vessel

Following Tang Hao's death, Tang San is consumed by grief, hatred, and vengeance. The Asura God approaches him with a plan to open a passage for a Pseudo-God Legion to descend upon Douluo Continent; Tang San agrees and absorbs the coordinate power needed to connect with the God Realm 86 87.

He accepts the Asura God's Divine Power despite the pain and corruption it causes, becoming a Level One Deity and fighting Bibi Dong. At the point of defeat, he receives the Sea God's inheritance, gaining the Sea God's Trident and achieving Dual Divine Seats 94 95.

Final Battle with Gu Nian

As a pseudo-God King, Tang San dismisses Bibi Dong as beneath him and challenges Gu Nian, declaring his intention to surpass the Human Strength Ranking's first place 95 96. Gu Nian overwhelms him with minimal effort, severs the Asura God's influence, and leaves Tang San severely injured 97 98 99.

Tang San continues fighting in a state of madness, burning his remaining life origin and soul. His Blue Silver Emperor is suppressed by an ordinary blade of Gu Nian's Blue Silver Grass, while his Clear Sky Nine Absolutes fail to break Gu Nian's grass wall. Gu Nian reflects Tang San's own force back at him, destroying his right arm and ending his final assault 100 101.

Appearance

Tang San is presented as a young man with blue hair in his normal state. Under the Asura God's empowerment, his hair turns blood-red and his eyes become filled with emotionless Killing Intent; he later reverts to blue-haired, bloodied, and severely injured after Gu Nian's intervention 94 98.

Being ranked fourth on the Golden Talent Ranking provokes humiliation rather than pride, and he repeatedly refuses to accept any evaluation beneath his expectations 26 28.

The Heavenly Screen exposes a pattern of self-justification: he treats the theft of Tang Sect techniques as necessary for the sect's prosperity, regards Yu Xiaogang as expendable for having imperfect theories, and values Xiao Wu primarily for the Soul Ring and Soul Bone he expects to gain from her sacrifice 28 29 30 31.

Despite his arrogance, Tang San becomes terrified when facing Ah Yin's promised punishment and later collapses under Gu Nian's overwhelming power. After Tang Hao's death, his fear and humiliation transform into obsession with revenge, making him willing to become a vessel for the Asura God's will 60 86 94.
