"Impedimenta!"
Without hesitation, Neville thrust his left palm forward, casting Wandless Magic as an Impedimenta shot out from his palm.
Nagini's body froze in midair, and in the next instant, Neville charged at her seven-inch point with the Gryffindor Sword in hand.
Nagini's magical resistance was far greater than that of ordinary snakes. Although Neville's Wandless Magic Impedimenta had halted her body in midair for a moment, it could not restrain her for long.
Before the Gryffindor Sword could strike her, she violently broke free of the Impedimenta's control. Twisting her body aside to evade the blade, she slithered up Neville's arm, attempting to wrap her coils around his body.
But how could Neville possibly let Nagini have her way?!
The Gryffindor Sword in Neville's right hand trembled lightly and flew into his left hand. Gripping the sword in reverse, he thrust it at Nagini as she coiled around his right arm.
Sensing the blade's sharp edge, Nagini had no choice but to abandon her plan of constricting Neville to death. Her body flashed away from his arm, and she lunged at his thigh with her fangs bared.
"Protego!"
It was Wandless Magic again—a Shield Charm. The invisible barrier knocked aside Nagini's sharp fangs.
Nagini watched Neville, who held the Gryffindor Sword, uneasily. The threat he posed was far greater than that of the Aurors Voldemort had ordered her to devour.
On the other side, Neville's robes were soaked through with sweat as well. He did not possess Hermione's talent for magic, and Wandless Magic was far from easy for him.
The Wandless Magic Impedimenta, Levitation Charm, and Shield Charm he had cast earlier had already drained much of Neville's energy.
Facing a Nagini who was weaker than the Basilisk but possessed combat skills countless times superior to it, Neville
