Background / History
Mutated Creatures arise when a human undergoes another aberrant evolution after mutating. Gu Qijue describes them as solitary hunters that prey on both humans and Mutated Monsters, with a preference for humans 15 16.
One creature stalks Zhao Hu, White Fox, and their companions through a dark street. It repeatedly snatches members of the group before Gu Qijue arrives; White Fox is left wounded and unable to defeat it. Gu Qijue fights the creature alone, kills it, and devours it to advance to Fourth Order 15 16.
Four more gather beneath a mutation tree the next morning. Gu Qijue kills one, then drives a golden individual away during the struggle for mutation fruits 17 18 19. Later, an injured golden creature named Guilai seeks Gu Qijue's protection and becomes his follower 23.
Appearance
The individual fought by Gu Qijue is short and gray-skinned, with a ferocious, heavily mutated body 16.

- One severely wounds White Fox and kills multiple armored Super Martial Artists, but is eventually defeated by Gu Qijue 15 16.
- Four overwhelm the Silverback Ape Emperor before fleeing at Gu Qijue's arrival 26.
Story Role / Major Arcs
- Mutation fruit tree: Several appear among the creatures competing for fruit. Gu Qijue kills a black individual and later wounds a golden one, forcing it to retreat 17 18 19.
- Gu Qijue's followers: Guilai seeks refuge with Gu Qijue. By the appearance of the later, unusually large mutation tree, Guilai and eight other strange creatures are with his group 23 31.
- Growing threat: Mutated Creatures appear in large numbers near the later tree despite their usual preference for hiding in darkness. Its scent is difficult even for Guilai and the others to resist 31.
