Chapter 50: Kyle's Whereabouts

Early 1944.

The Hydra organization, which had been ravaging and endangering the European region, was completely wiped out. Its founder, Schmidt, was apprehended and brought to justice by Kyle and Steve, who declared him deceased on the spot.

This significant battle report, upon reaching American soil, instantly ignited a grand and solemn nationwide celebration. Countless soldiers, both from hospitals and those returning to bases from the battlefield, gathered together, raising their glasses in joyous revelry.

"Cheers to victory! Cheers to Major Kyle and Captain Steve!"

"Cheers to heroes! May the world soon welcome peace..."

In countless bars across the major cities, cheers like these echoed through the night.

In the same month, the German army, having lost its manufacturing facilities, was severely weakened and began a large-scale withdrawal from the front lines. This became a significant harbinger of Germany's eventual surrender.

However, amidst the jubilant atmosphere of the great victory in Western Europe, the two main heroes of the event—Kyle and Steve—vanished like the fading embers of battle fireworks, never to be seen again.

Although Lieutenant Steve eventually managed to contact the American base via communicator from the out-of-control enemy aircraft, the signal was quickly lost. He only managed to transmit fragmented messages: "Sink the out-of-control aircraft into the Atlantic, don't let it enter New York."

As for Major Kyle, he completely disappeared without a trace, as if he had followed that rogue aircraft.

Half a month later.

On the surface of a certain sea area in the Atlantic Ocean, the warm sunlight of early morning cast down, dyeing the blue waves and spray with layers of shimmering golden edges.

A modern, white, two-story sailboat moved slowly across the sea, drifting like a small leaf guided by the ocean currents and the sea breeze.

On the open deck of the white sailboat, a blonde young man wearing sunglasses lay lazily on a sun lounger, his hands behind his head, appearing exceptionally relaxed and at ease.

He was only wearing beach shorts, his bare torso revealing perfect abs forged like steel craftsmanship, allowing the sunlight to bathe his strong, perfect body.

Beside the sun lounger, on a round table with a small umbrella, a creature with a body of black liquid was wriggling, seemingly extremely displeased with the hot weather.

"It's been a long time since I've been able to relax like this," Kyle, lying on the sun lounger, couldn't help but sigh.

Since his reincarnation into the Marvel world of World War II, months of continuous warfare had passed. Even with the extraordinary physique of a Super Soldier, his body had to remain in a state of high alert for combat at all times.

A stray energy laser, a High-Explosive Grenade, a sniper's shelling, or even the indiscriminate carpet bombing from bombers could send him flying at any moment.

Living in the harsh environment of prolonged warfare, even when Kyle entered deep sleep for rest, if someone approached his bed, his body would instinctively react to subdue them before he was even fully conscious.

Fury, Steve, and even Carter had all experienced this.

"Thinking about it, wouldn't it have been better to just follow Whitebeard's suggestion and resign from the army to become an ordinary citizen back in New York?"

This thought flashed through his mind, and Kyle didn't dwell on it.

Possessing the Card Draw Ability, if he had truly been cowardly and cowered in a seemingly safe city, even he would have looked down on himself.

Rather than spending his life worrying about future potential crises, it was better to actively tread the dangerous path where opportunity and danger intertwined, constantly strengthening his own abilities, improving his status and reputation, until he could face any enemy without fear.

Without joining the front-line war, where would he have gotten so many free resources to draw from? Without fighting alongside Steve, how would he have gained his Super Soldier abilities?

This was Kyle's true belief. He was less a hero fighting for America and more a warrior fighting for his own future.

Furthermore, in this process, gaining the sincere friendship of Steve, Joseph, Fury, Howard, and Carter was something that brought him great comfort.

As Kyle's thoughts drifted, a loud eagle's cry suddenly came from the sky. Immediately after, the shadow cast by its enormous wings completely enveloped the sailboat.

"Are they back..." Kyle sat up from the sun lounger, looking at the Blue Eagle flying down towards the near sea surface. Its constantly flapping wings stirred the waves into a frenzy, kicking up splashes of spray.

Kyle asked the Blue Eagle, "How is it? Did you find any trace?"

'Chirp!'

The Blue Eagle chirped softly, tilting its head left and right in a human-like manner.

Kyle frowned, waved his hand to the side, and instructed, "Continue searching this direction, within a twenty-mile radius of the sea area."

The Blue Eagle pecked its beak lightly, flapped its wings, and soared high into the sky, quickly disappearing into the clouds.

Since Steve had flown away in the out-of-control aircraft, Kyle had later dispatched the Blue Eagle, which had returned from dealing with the Nuclear Bomb Plane, to search for the aircraft's trace. However, after half a month, there wasn't a single clue.

The Atlantic Ocean was vast and boundless. If it had been frozen and sunk to the seabed as in the original movie, it would have been like finding a needle in a haystack.

"It seems I can only give up," Kyle sighed, preparing to consider the plan to return to the military base. Just then, a faint dark shadow emerged from beneath the sea surface near the sailboat.

'Plop!'

A great white shark suddenly leaped out of the water, exposing half of its body, circling and swimming in the seawater next to the sailboat, nodding and blowing bubbles at Kyle as if seeking praise.

Kyle's heart leaped. Looking at the great white shark nearby, he confirmed and raised his voice, "Did you really find that thing?"

The great white shark continued to leap out of the water, splashing, as its affirmation.

"Venom, you and Little Shark go together and bring that thing up." Kyle pondered for a moment, his gaze shifting to the lazy Venom on the table.

'Wriggle—'

Venom, with little enthusiasm, transformed into countless black tendrils and bounced off the table. It truly had no interest in interacting with sharks, which it considered both foolish and unintelligent. But since it was Kyle's order, it could only obey directly.

The black liquid tendrils wrapped around the great white shark in the seawater, quickly covering its entire body as if it had gained a layer of hard, dark keratin. Even the great white shark's pupils turned crimson, and its mouth opened, revealing even more ferocious and terrifying teeth.

With Venom possessing the great white shark, it naturally took the lead in controlling its body.

"Go quickly and come back quickly. Oh, and don't touch that thing directly with your body." Kyle thought for a moment, then directly embedded two wooden planks into Venom Shark's teeth, "Clamp it and bring it up."

Venom Shark flicked its tail and dove into the sea with great speed.

Not long after, the water surface rippled again as its figure reappeared. Simultaneously, a brilliant blue light gradually illuminated the seawater.

Venom Shark's head emerged from the sea, and Kyle's gaze immediately fell upon its mouth. There, clamped between the two wooden planks, was a cubic blue light block, emanating wisps of mysterious and profound energy.

The Tesseract!
