Translucent psychic energy flowed and surged over the Power Armor like a tide.
Justicar could move only his will and thoughts.
Seeing Ahriman snatch the leg bone from him, he wanted nothing more than to charge over and tear Ahriman apart.
But even if he could move, he still couldn't do that.
Ahriman raised a hand slightly, intending to kill Justicar, but after a moment's thought, lowered it again.
The Psyker thought there had to be some mysterious reason why this mortal could find the relic. He had heard their conversation, too, but suspected neither of them had any idea why they could locate the leg bone.
So he might as well spare the man's life and see what they could set in motion.
Ahriman turned and left.
Justicar could only watch as the Psyker carried the leg bone away.
But just as the portal began to take shape, the body lying in the snow suddenly twitched and rose in a highly unnatural manner.
The hole in his head had completely healed. Only the bloody shards of ice on his skull remained as proof that Justicar had once shot the Chaplain in the head.
Ahriman didn't look back. Ignoring Samoa as he suddenly rose to his feet, he stepped through the portal.
But the next moment, when he came to his senses, Samoa had seized him by the horns on his helmet and hurled him backward.
When Ahriman reacted again, Samoa was already standing before him.
Samoa brought down a foot, shattering the rocks.
