Background

Xiao Wu originates from the Star Dou Forest, where she was raised by her mother and regards Da Ming and Er Ming—two Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts who call her their elder sister—as family. Her mother protected them while they were young. Although she understands that Soul Beasts compete and kill even within their own races, she is chiefly concerned with Da Ming and Er Ming rather than the wider Soul Beast population 81.

Having transformed into human form, Xiao Wu enters Nuoding Academy with Innate Full Soul Power. Her hidden identity leaves her insecure among Soul Masters, who hunt Soul Beasts for Spirit Rings, and this insecurity contributes to her quick dependence on Li Yue after he defeats her 19 24.

Xiao Wu is bold, competitive, and highly confident despite the limited offensive power of her rabbit Martial Soul. She initially challenges Li Yue for control of the Seventh Dormitory because she expects her Innate Full Soul Power to secure an easy victory; losing instead to Blue Silver Grass humbles her 19 20.

With Li Yue, she is affectionate, trusting, and unusually gentle. She seeks his company and physical reassurance because she feels unsafe living among Soul Masters while concealing her Soul Beast identity 24 68. Her affection also makes her intensely territorial: she openly identifies herself as Li Yue's girlfriend and reacts aggressively to women whom she believes are pursuing him 98 109.
