Meng Yiran encountered Li Yue in the Star Dou Forest while travelling with her grandparents, Dragon Duke Meng Shu and Snake Dowager Chao Tianxiang. Li Yue yielded a variant Mandala Snake to her for use as a second Soul Ring and cautioned the family that its absorption would be unusually dangerous. 94

She immediately recognized Li Yue as the author of Nine Great Theories of Martial Souls, identifying him from his appearance, Blue Silver Emperor, and Blue Silver Spear. Already an avid collector of his commemorative coins, she became visibly starstruck at meeting him and sought his autograph. 95
