After Li Jiusheng got used to his body, he stood up and simply stretched his limbs.
Suddenly, a flash of pure white light shot directly towards him.
Li Jiusheng naturally knew who it was and didn't resist, letting her rush into his embrace.
"I was so worried about you," a childish, milky voice sounded from his chest. Li Jiusheng was surprised and lifted the Little Fox, "You can talk now?"
"Just these past two days," the Little Fox said softly. She had just refined her diaphragm and could now speak, though she wasn't quite used to it.
"Haha, today is truly a double celebration," Li Jiusheng said joyfully. He held the Little Fox in his arms, reaching out to gently stroke her. His palm, filled with Great Grandmaster energy, flowed into the Little Fox's body, helping her to clear her meridians, stimulate her blood vessels, and improve her physique.
The Little Fox let out a comfortable purr and lay in Li Jiusheng's arms, her eyes squinted in enjoyment. "Did you break through your realm?"
Li Jiusheng nodded and asked with a smile, "Were you guarding me the whole time?"
"Of course, you're my only friend," the Little Fox nodded.
Li Jiusheng smiled broadly. He, an old man of a hundred years, had made a friend less than a year old. What a joyous occasion.
He asked the Little Fox, "Since you can talk now, the first thing you should do is give yourself a name."
"My name is Bai Xiaobai," the Little Fox said seriously. "My mother chose this name when I was in her womb. My father's surname is Bai, and I'm all white, so I'm called Bai Xiaobai."
Only then did Li Jiusheng realize that the Thousand-Year Sword God of the Old Land's surname was Bai.
"Bai Xiaobai, my name is Li Jiusheng," Li Jiusheng greeted the Little Fox solemnly.
"Li Jiusheng, my name is Bai Xiaobai," the Little Fox repeated, mimicking Li Jiusheng's tone and mannerisms. She couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Li Jiusheng smiled gently and took the Little Fox back to the tea room.
"How many days was I in seclusion this time?" Li Jiusheng asked while effortlessly preparing tea in the tea room.
"Two days," the Little Fox replied, lying nearby.
"Did anyone else come over?" Li Jiusheng asked.
"The person who comes often did, but no one else," the Little Fox said.
Li Jiusheng knew who the Little Fox meant by the "person who comes often"—it was Li Qingshan, the Sect Master of Shangqing Palace.
"After you broke through, you smell so good," the Little Fox suddenly said, her eyes fixed on Li Jiusheng. She licked her tender pink lips, looking ravenous.
Li Jiusheng knew she wanted to bite him. After breaking through to Great Grandmaster and undergoing a rebirth, his physical body had shed its mortal shell. If a demonic beast were to devour him, he would be a great tonic.
"If you follow me and cultivate well, you'll be even more fragrant in the future," Li Jiusheng said with a smile.
The Little Fox's eyes lit up, and she nodded firmly. She just loved fragrant people.
After chatting with the Little Fox for a while, she grew sleepy, yawned, and fell into a daze beside Li Jiusheng.
The afternoon was tranquil, and the tea room was filled with a delicate fragrance. Li Jiusheng drank his tea, recalling his breakthrough, and felt a sense of having survived a great calamity.
He hadn't expected the remnant soul of Emperor Wu of Zhou to escape the encirclement and pursuit, sneak to Shangqing Palace, and attempt to possess him.
The power of an Ancestor Realm remnant soul was not to be underestimated. Possessing a Grandmaster should have been a hundred percent successful.
But he had encountered Li Jiusheng.
While others in the Grandmaster realm were still shrouded in the chaos of not yet touching the Primordial spirit realm, Li Jiusheng had long ago cultivated the method of the Primordial spirit, visualizing the Hell Bodhisattva, and tempering his consciousness in seas of corpses and blood daily. This gave him the chance to fight back from the brink of despair.
"I've slain the remnant soul of Emperor Wu of Zhou, and I've absorbed the Ancestor Realm Primordial spirit energy. His main body must have been affected," Li Jiusheng thought silently, his expression growing cold, a chilling killing intent brewing in his heart.
If it weren't for his luck this time, if he hadn't trained his Primordial spirit beforehand, he would have long since returned to his homeland, possessed by Emperor Wu of Zhou.
How could he not be angry?
It was just that his current strength was still insufficient, so he could only suppress this anger in his heart. When the opportunity for revenge arose in the future, his strike would be like thunder.
"Emperor Wu of Zhou, you've lost this part of your Primordial spirit, and your Ancestor Realm foundation was previously severed. You're already heavily wounded. I hope you can hold on. When I grow stronger, I'll send you on the road to the underworld," Li Jiusheng silently drank his tea, a cold killing intent rising within him.
"However, after killing Emperor Wu of Zhou in the consciousness space, it seems he left something behind in my Primordial spirit space." Li Jiusheng recalled the events in detail and discovered a clue.
Emperor Wu of Zhou, in his remnant soul state, seemed to have been holding a great treasure.
Li Jiusheng immediately sat down cross-legged, his Primordial spirit opening its eyes to examine his Primordial spirit space. Sure enough, in an inconspicuous corner, he found the treasure brought by Emperor Wu of Zhou's remnant soul.
The Grandmaster Pure Land!
"No wonder he was in such a hurry to flee. So he sneaked into the ruins and took the Grandmaster Pure Land. Fortunately, you chose to possess me and failed. If you had returned to Luochuan Sect and repaired your Ancestor Realm foundation, it would have been an apocalyptic disaster for our Shangqing Palace," Li Jiusheng thought with relief.
"However, this Grandmaster Pure Land is useless to me." Looking at the Grandmaster Pure Land in his Primordial spirit, interwoven with the Way, Dharma, and reason, Li Jiusheng thought of someone.
Li Qingshan!
He was at the peak of the Venerable realm and had been striving to break through to the Ancestor Realm.
But if the Ancestor Realm were easy to break through, so many peak Venerables wouldn't have quietly grown old and faded away with the years.
"With the Grandmaster Pure Land, my junior brother will surely break through to the Ancestor Realm. Only then will our Shangqing Palace have the means to protect itself," Li Jiusheng knew the importance of the matter. He immediately used his True Qi to conjure a carrier pigeon and sent it to the Golden Summit Hall to invite Li Qingshan over.
Ninety thousand miles away from Shangqing Palace lay Luochuan Sect.
Two days ago, a piercing scream had terrified the high-ranking officials of Luochuan Sect. They rushed to inquire at the Ancestor's seclusion area, only to receive a cold reply.
"This seat is fine. Quickly, go to the Yishan Clan and invite their Old Ancestor to the sect. Tell them this seat has a great deal to do business with them."
"Also, help me contact the Human World. I have a big deal for them."
"Furthermore, help me contact the Bajiao Dao Sect, Shangqing Palace's sworn enemy. Tell them that the Grandmaster Pure Land within that ruin is located in Shangqing Palace. If they're interested, we can join forces."
A cold voice echoed from Emperor Wu of Zhou's seclusion chamber as he issued commands one by one.
While his disciples and elders went to carry out these tasks, inside the secret chamber, Emperor Wu of Zhou suddenly spat out a mouthful of fresh blood. His face turned deathly pale, bloodshot veins filling his eyes. He stared intently in the direction of Shangqing Palace, gritting his teeth and saying, "Damn Shangqing Palace! You've ruined all my plans and even shattered my remnant soul. The Grandmaster Pure Land is lost, and I will make you pay with blood!"
"Shangqing Palace has no Grandmaster! I will attack Shangqing Palace!" Emperor Wu of Zhou roared, his entire body trembling with bone-deep hatred.
Only by leveling the entire Shangqing Palace to the ground, reducing everyone to ashes, could he vent the rage building up in his heart.
