"What's he mean? Why can't I make heads or tails of it?"
"Is he... waiting for us to come to him?"
"Not just waiting for us to come to him. I think he's... damn well enjoying himself."
"Dai Mao, what does he mean?"
Da Huang and the other two looked at Dai Mao in confusion, even more curious about this sworn enemy of his.
"Why the hell are you looking at me? How the hell would I know?"
"He's sick in the head," Dai Mao said irritably.
Chen Changan, too, gazed thoughtfully at Ximen Yuan, wondering what he was really up to.
What kind of deep-seated grudge could there be between them for Ximen Yuan to go this far?
"Do you and Dai Mao have a personal grudge?" Chen Changan asked curiously.
"No."
"No? Then is it an ancestral feud?"
"Not that either."
"Then why do you keep targeting Dai Mao?"
"Because I like him."
Like him?
What kind of answer was that?
"You like Dai Mao?"
"Hey, hey, hey, Chen Changan, what are you trying to say? Don't make wild guesses. I'm not into that."
Before Ximen Yuan could answer, Dai Mao couldn't hold back any longer. What did he mean, Ximen Yuan liked Dai Mao? What the hell was that supposed to mean? They were sworn enemies, enemies who could never share the same sky. Where was there any room for liking?
"That's right."
Ximen Yuan's answer instantly left the whole world in silence.
Chen Changan and the others stared wide-eyed, looking from Ximen Yuan to Dai Mao and back again.
Was this for real?
If Chen Changan and the others were shocked because they found it novel and amusing, Dai Mao's shock was like five thunderbolts crashing down on him, leaving him utterly incapable of thought.
