Chen Changan and the Giant Dragon were having a great time chatting, but the natives outside, who had originally planned to watch the show, were collectively losing it.
Enslavement!
How could it have been enslavement?
They couldn't accept it, much less believe it. The people of the Eternal Land had once been enslaved by someone—and not just anyone, but an outsider who had enslaved the entire Eternal Land.
"You're lying. You have to be lying."
"You—"
"You what? Shut the hell up already. Keep yapping, and I'll beat the hell out of you."
"Lying? Why would I lie? What would I get out of it? To piss you off? You think way too damn highly of yourselves."
"If I could kill you, I'd have done it a long time ago."
"Wait, something's off. This doesn't make sense."
"If you can't kill them, then how did they carry out the purge back then? How did they wipe out the other races? Could the people of the Eternal Land once be killed?"
Only then did Chen Changan realize: weren't the people of the Eternal Land impossible to kill? Then how had the other races been purged?
The logic just didn't add up.
"You bring that up, and I've been wanting to ask about it myself."
"Do you know how the Human Race grew so powerful? It was because they couldn't die. Tell me, who the hell could compete with them?"
"They say one side wanes as the other waxes, but they couldn't even wane. How were we supposed to fight them?"
"It's not fair. It's so damn unfair! Why can the Human Race be immortal while we don't get that privilege?"
"You mean that in the Eternal Land, every race except the Human Race lacked the privilege of immortality?"
"Yeah, that's right.
