"Kakashi-senpai! Kakashi-senpai!"
"Nara-senpai, can we talk for a bit?"
"Uncle Ichiraku, two bowls of ramen, and a chat?"
"Nobody wants to talk to me?" Jin watched as everyone he met hurried past, averting their eyes. His gaze fell on a nearby figure as he sighed. "Come here, little Pakkun, let big brother chat with you a bit."
Truly, even the dogs on the street had to get a word in!
Pakkun turned his head to glance at Jin, and a look of human-like disdain actually appeared in his doggy eyes.
He turned and walked away.
"Don't go! Teach me how to carve a dog head into Earth Style: Earth Wall!"
"Would that count as a dog head saving my life, huh?"
Tap tap tap.
Unfortunately, Pakkun scurried off and vanished in an instant.
Leaving Jin sitting alone on the village street, watching the sun that had already begun to set with a hint of disappointment.
From morning until now, over ten hours, and he hadn't copied a single Trait!
It wasn't that there were no people to talk to—but every copy attempt had failed.
"Is today just a bad day for me?"
Just then, the System suddenly popped up a notification.
[Congratulations, Host, for basking in sunlight for 666 minutes. Chakra +666.]
"Six hundred sixty-six? Fine, fine, System, you're not even pretending anymore, are you!"
Uchiha Jin's face darkened, and he turned to head back toward the clan compound.
"Woof woof."
But worth noting, on his way back, the pack of Pugs and Akita Inus led by Pakkun suddenly caught up to him.
Seven or eight of them circled around his feet, nuzzling him affectionately.
He froze for a moment, a little surprised:
"Huh? I don't think I copied Kakashi's Summoning Trait, did I?"
"That guy Kakashi can't seriously think sending a few dogs over will shut me up?"
Three minutes later.
"Pakkun, you're kind of soft and squishy, huh."
And who doesn't like little dogs?
Cute, soft little dogs!
Ten minutes later.
By the time Jin returned to the village carrying a little dog, a burly man was standing at the gate.
In his hand was a long rod, clearly engraved with the words "Seven Wolves."
It was Uchiha Fugaku.
Upon seeing Jin, his face visibly darkened, and he snorted coldly:
"Jin!"
"Present!"
Fugaku: "...What exactly did you do to Sasuke!"
His voice carried a note of displeasure.
Over the years, knowing his second son's talent, he had only quietly watched from afar, rarely interfering.
But now, it involved his other son!
This forced him to take it seriously.
"Sasuke? What did he do?"
Jin rubbed Pakkun's head, a little confused.
Hadn't the old man just given the Second Pillar a beating this morning?
"Hmph! From this morning, that kid has been yelling about wanting to sunbathe, saying sunbathing makes him stronger! Laughing while he does it! And he wants to be the Hokage?"
"Listen to that nonsense! A child of the Uchiha clan, wanting to be the Hokage!"
"No matter how much I hit him, he won't listen! He even says he'd rather die on top of the courtyard wall!"
As he said this, Fugaku raised the rod in his hand and brought it down in anger!
"Woof woof woof! Awooo!"
And then... Pakkun got a good scolding on the head.
Jin showed no hint of embarrassment as he moved Pakkun aside and suggested in a low voice, "How about... I go talk to him?"
"Hmph! Go ahead! If you can't bring him back, tonight we'll—eat dog meat!"
With that, he flicked his sleeve and turned to leave.
A child of three or four was exactly at the age for mischief and trouble.
He couldn't be bothered to deal with it, so he simply took the chance to hand it off to Uchiha Jin.
Maybe, just maybe, another genius would emerge?
Behind him, though.
Pakkun, held in Jin's arms, tucked his tail between his legs.
Out of nowhere, why did it turn into eating him!
He didn't understand!
He really didn't understand!
And he suddenly felt that this mission might be a bit tough...
Three minutes later.
On the wall of the Clan Head's small courtyard.
Above, a tiny figure was howling at the sky.
"The sky's clear, the rain's stopped, I, Uchiha Sasuke, am going to become Hokage!!"
Sasuke shouted at the setting sun, repeating the words Jin had endlessly said in front of him.
Then, following what he remembered seeing Jin do, he reached out, ran his hand through his hair, covered his face, and burst into wild laughter, "Hahahahaha! Haha!"
"That's about thirty percent of the look, but your voice is too childish, your mouth doesn't open wide enough, and your laugh isn't deep enough."
Amid the laughter, Jin's commentary came from the corner of the wall.
He shook his head, holding Pakkun in his arms, with seven yawning Shiba Inu behind him.
Who would've thought that the words he'd said to tease Second Pillar would actually stick in his mind?
Now this was great.
Second Pillar wasn't going to destroy the village; he was going to start being Hokage!
What—was Naruto supposed to do then?
"You... y-you... you bastard, why are you suddenly back!"
The embarrassment of being caught like this was like wetting the bed and having your rival see it!
Sasuke's little face flushed bright red, and he pouted sulkily, turning his head away.
Refusing to look at the person below.
Until Jin smiled, rubbed the dog's head, and asked softly, "So, Sasuke wants to become as strong as big brother too, huh?"
"Huh?"
Such a gentle attitude was the first time Sasuke had seen it.
He hesitated for a moment, then firmly shook his head in refusal!
"Right, yesterday's shuriken—"
With that, Uchiha Jin casually tossed out a piece of metal. The blade cut seven zigzag lines through the air, shredding the distant target into wood chips.
"You were trying to achieve that effect, weren't you?"
Gulp.
Sasuke stared at the scattered wood chips, his Adam's apple bobbing.
He was really tempted.
It was that move—the flashy, tricky shuriken!
For the past two days, it seemed to have been stuck in his heart every moment!
So after hesitating for a while, he said in a small voice:
"F-fine... but you begged me, you know. Once I get strong, I'll still beat you up!"
"At most... I'll go easy..."
He agreed?
"Good, you agreed."
Jin shook his head, dawdling for a moment.
[Engaging in conversation with Uchiha Sasuke for ten minutes. Attempting to copy Trait.]
[Copy failed. Chakra +1.]
Failed again?
What's going on today!!
If conversation won't work, then I'll have to turn up the intensity!
Jin grinned, patting Pakkun and saying, "Let the dog loose. Bite him."
Sasuke: ???
Pakkun: Woof!!!
