Background / History
Other Shore became an Imperial Knight Commander after establishing herself as an exceptional young Knight. Although regarded as comparable to historical Knight prodigies, she remained trapped at Fourth Order for ten years and eventually accepted that she might never become a Saint 152.
As a member of the Seven-Person Council, she repeatedly opposed the Pope’s faction. Her deciding vote protected Heisenberg’s privacy rather than handing him to the Tribunal, and she was assigned to liaise with him before an expedition against Dream Eater fanatics 49.
She later learned that an assassination plot awaited her in the Contamination Zone. Rather than endanger her subordinates, she left them in Brookwood Town and proceeded despite expecting to die as a consequence of her oath and duty 69. With Ethan and Rowena’s help, she faked her death after the expedition; the Empire publicly mourned her as a fallen Knight Commander while she escaped with her subordinates alive 98.
Afterward, she joined Old Sen Magitech and began a life outside the Church’s authority. Ethan’s plan to create a new legend around a Holy Sword gave her an opportunity to overcome the limitation of her Knight path 130 152. During the Northern Territory crisis, she emerged from the Divine Bird’s flames, drew the Sword of Vows and Victory, and became a Saint 156.
Appearance
Other Shore is a red-haired woman with heroic features, commonly seen in light Knight armor and carrying a sword at her waist 99 400.
- Her usual armor is made from dragon bones and sinews; it resists arrows, firearms, and spells below Tier 3 99.
- She has worn a black cloak with half her face concealed following her rebirth as the Blizzard King 156.
- When channeling the Sword of Vows and Victory, her eyes and blade emit golden light 156.
- She wears her red hair in a ponytail on at least some occasions 397.
Personality
Other Shore is blunt, direct, and largely indifferent to aristocratic etiquette. She casually offends nobles and royalty alike, including the First Prince, and openly treats prestigious settings primarily as opportunities for a good meal 424.
Despite her rough manner, she acts with conviction to protect others. She accepted the possibility of death to keep her subordinates from being persecuted, rescued survivors of Riverside Town despite having no connection to them, and attempted to avoid civilian casualties when confronting assassins 69 394 409.
She is intensely competitive about combat and became frustrated when her record in Brookwood Town compared poorly with Ethan, Rowena, and even Miss Chloe. Rather than accept weakness, she immediately sought a way to become stronger—even considering eating Giant Soldier flesh to acquire its immunities 97.
Her appetite is extraordinary and frequently shapes her decisions, observations, and reputation. In Gear City, she spent an entire day visiting restaurants, banquets, and the police station primarily to eat 396.
Abilities & Skills
Saint Knight Physiology
After becoming a Saint, Other Shore possesses exceptional speed, physical power, and combat endurance.
- Defeated a giant Bigfoot Monster in a single encounter after drawing the Holy Sword 156.
- Outran normal vehicles and pedestrians while testing Ethan’s motorcycle, though the situation was complicated by the motorcycle’s unexpectedly low speed 201.
- Defeated the Simpler Family’s elite Flayer assassins with bare-handed strikes; one punch embedded an opponent in the ground 410.
- Created a shockwave powerful enough to clear metallic constructs and blasted an opening into an aerial castle with a leap 439.
Sword of Vows and Victory
The Sword of Vows and Victory is her defining weapon and the foundation of her Saintly legend. Though presented publicly as a Holy Sword drawn from stone, it was forged with Energy Crystal technology and Giant Soldier remains 156 396.
- Channels Other Shore’s Magic Power as its “power bank” and can produce golden radiance 156.
- Originally carried a flame enchantment; Ethan may be able to further empower it through meditation and his connection to the weapon 396.
- Its blade can temporarily vanish before reappearing when she infuses the hilt with energy 396.
- A full activation produced a pillar of light that broke through Gear City’s clouds 396.
Knightly Leadership
Other Shore has a distinctive presence that inspires confidence and makes others willing to follow her.
- Her Magic Power is said to bring peace wherever she goes, encouraging people to entrust their lives to her 156.
- Adventurers trapped in the Holy Temple rallied behind her and fought their way through the monster horde 156.
- Riverside Town survivors came to regard her as the backbone of their group after she rescued them from the Empire’s massacre 395.
- Solan considers her a role model and mentor, valuing both her strength and the security she gives those around her 445.
Firearms and Magitech Tactics
Before reaching Sainthood, Other Shore adapted her Knight combat style to modern warfare rather than relying solely on swordsmanship.
- Created the firearm-based Miracle Creation Red Rose 156.
- Was the first Knight to advocate incorporating firearm battalions into regular tactics during conflict between Knights and Gunners 156.
- Her firearm can fire a silver-white beam, though it failed against a Flesh Giant’s anti-magic barrier 91.
