The meteor finally landed in Nevada.

Li Dan followed it to the impact site. By the time he arrived, all he could see was a split meteorite, a huge hole leading underground, and some disgusting slime.

He remembered the movie well. It was a rare American horror film where everyone actually used their brains.

Tremors was about two handymen in Perfection, Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward. One day, they were getting ready to leave the desolate town and look for better opportunities elsewhere.

Then they discovered that the townspeople and their livestock had begun dying mysteriously, each death stranger than the last.

At first, they thought a murderer was responsible.

But before long, they realized the killers weren't murderers at all. They were giant mutant worms dozens of times more brutal.

There were four of them. They ate anything, had no eyes, located prey by sound, and even showed a degree of intelligence.

The first time Li Dan saw the creatures from Tremors, he thought they were a variant of the Alien.

After all, these things also had a smaller head inside their mouths.

They just weren't as freakish as Aliens, which laid eggs and used hosts.

Their fighting ability was nothing special, though it shot up in the later installments.

Li Dan was genuinely tempted to catch a few and raise them. If nothing else, he wouldn't have to spend money loosening the soil on his estate. A few passes from the worms would do the job.

Finding the ones that had burrowed away would be tricky, though. He would have to give it a try.

Water began spreading from beneath Li Dan's feet and flowing into the ground, but that was nowhere near enough.
