Fusion: I'm Not Human Anymore!

The underground caves were extensive and interconnected.

The deeper they went, the more numerous the branching paths became, and the visibility from their helmet lights diminished.

Eventually, it became akin to a labyrinth. After the group got separated, they wandered aimlessly inside, seeing no hope of escape, only despair.

Juno led the way, holding a pickaxe and a gun. In her words:

It was all her fault. Li Dan just needed to cover her from behind; there was no need for him to take risks at the front.

Juno didn't notice the few Wendigos crawling quietly overhead. They were now Li Dan's most loyal subordinates, tasked with eliminating any threats for him.

Li Dan discovered an interesting phenomenon along the way.

Even though these six Wendigos had become his contained entities, their kind in these caves still treated them as fellow creatures.

Was it due to their intelligence?

From Li Dan's perspective, his six subordinates encountered another Wendigo in the caves.

Neither side attacked.

The Wendigo in the cave made sounds, seemingly trying to communicate, but his six subordinates remained motionless.

Until Li Dan gave an order.

While the Wendigo was still bewildered and confused, the six companions around him, in Li Dan's eyes, suddenly went mad, pouncing on him, and began to bite.

Juno heard the noise and looked up. A corpse rapidly enlarged in her vision. She rolled to dodge.

"Bang."

The corpse hit the ground, splashing dark, inky blood.

Juno looked up again; the monster had already scattered. She looked at the mangled body on the ground and asked in confusion.

"Why are they killing each other?"

Li Dan casually offered a reason.

"Maybe they're hungry, or there isn't enough food?"

The matter of contained entities should be kept secret as much as possible. The main issue was that both Deformed Persons and Wendigos were physical beings. If they were ghosts or vengeful spirits, there wouldn't be such a problem.

Juno certainly didn't believe him. If creatures ate their own kind, there wouldn't be so many pack monsters. But she couldn't refute the possibility that they were genuinely hungry.

This could only be considered a minor interlude on their journey.

The two encountered no danger on the way. To be precise, all threats were eliminated in advance by the six Wendigos.

Midway.

At a fork in the cave.

Juno found a bracelet. She remembered very clearly that it was the one Sarah wore on her hand.

"Sarah is in danger; I have to save her."

Juno's emotions became agitated, and she ran directly in one direction.

Li Dan stopped at the fork in the road, hesitated for a moment, then quickly called his subordinates to follow and chased after Juno.

The six crawling Wendigos uniformly turned direction, following Li Dan's position as they began to crawl rapidly.

If one were to see this scene from God's perspective, it would be terrifying.

"Sarah!"

"Beth!"

"Sam!"

Li Dan could hear Juno's loud voice from a distance. She truly wasn't afraid of death.

But it was good. Letting Juno attract attention at the front, he would do his best to maintain combat power.

On the other side of the cave.

On the upper rock wall, Rebecca and Beth huddled together, not daring to make a sound, because there was a monster right in front of them.

Fortunately, these monsters, perhaps due to their long-term survival underground, had lost their sight and relied solely on hearing to locate their position.

Juno's shouts from afar attracted the monster.

The monster quickly tracked the sound and moved towards it.

Rebecca and Beth had no intention of warning Juno.

At this moment, they were in dire straits themselves. What friends or best friends mattered in this instant was as light as a feather.

After the monster left.

Rebecca and Beth immediately got up and fled in the opposite direction, with no intention of going back to save Juno.

Juno's shouting did have an effect; it did attract nearby monsters.

Most of them were torn to shreds by Li Dan's Wendigos, and the few remaining were not worth worrying about.

After Juno finished off the monsters with a few shots from her ice pick, she knelt down to look at the corpse before her. It was Sam's... her neck was bitten open, and she had been dead for a long time.

After the pain subsided, she once again set out to find Sarah and the others. She glanced back, wondering if Li Dan had run off since he was so slow to catch up.

Fear was normal...

Juno pulled the ice pick from the monster's chest and continued forward.

Little did she know, Li Dan had stopped being human at this very moment!

To better blend into the dark environment, he chose to fuse with the Wendigo card, transforming into a monster that crawled on its strong limbs. He followed Juno, climbing along the mountaintop with his five subordinates.

Admittedly, while becoming a Wendigo was hard to accept, it gave him a sense of security he never had as a human.

Perhaps the Wendigo was just accustomed to life underground.

It was Li Dan's first time transforming into a monster, and he was a little excited. He experimented with his new abilities, crawling all over the cave without fear of bumping into walls.

His vision, enhanced senses, and strength remained; they hadn't disappeared just because he'd become a Wendigo.

This point was particularly good.

Li Dan even sought out a lone Wendigo for a one-on-one fight. He discovered that the other creature was no match for him, easily snapping its neck.

From this, it seemed that fusion was essentially layering the Wendigo's form onto Li Dan's existing strength and abilities.

What a shame.

He could only fuse with one card. If he could fuse them all and add the Deformed Person, perhaps he could stand a chance against that Wendigo that had transformed into an Evil Spirit.

After fully adapting.

Li Dan began to crawl rapidly in Juno's direction.

A certain nest in the cave.

Sarah suddenly woke with a start. She turned on her headlamp and scanned her surroundings, her heart pounding in her chest.

There were not only piles of white bones but also a pond formed from pooled blood.

Before Sarah could get up, a small Wendigo suddenly lunged at her, grabbing her hair and tearing at it.

The intense pain on her scalp made Sarah struggle wildly. She grabbed the little monster's head with both hands and smashed it hard against the ground. She casually picked up a bone from the floor and beat it to death.

Just as Sarah was getting into the rhythm of her assault, a muffled gunshot rang out from behind her.

Sarah turned to see another monster lying behind her. It seemed to be the mother of the little monster she had just killed.

Beth was the one who fired the shot, her hands trembling slightly.

Sarah excitedly rushed forward and hugged Rebecca and Beth. The three were reunited in the cave, quietly expressing their relief at surviving.

Just as they were discussing how to leave the place.

A huge shadow blocked the exit.

When Sarah, Beth, and Rebecca saw the monster blocking the cave entrance, despair washed over them.

Unlike other monsters that were blind and relied on their sense of smell, this monster's blood-red eyes stared directly at the three people in the cave.

As they moved, its pupils followed their every twitch.

Clearly, it could see.
