Terrifying Evil Spirit: Siege!

Having gone through several crises, Rebecca and the others were no longer as terrified as before. After all, they had personally killed a Wendigo.

Facing terror head-on was the best way to deal with it.

Coupled with its weakness, they naturally wouldn't be as afraid and scream as before, but that was when their strength was comparable. This situation was an exception.

The cave entrance was at least three meters high.

The monster before them stood upright, occupying the entire entrance. Its skin color and height, so different from other monsters, undeniably proved its power.

Sarah and the others had intended to use the monster's weakness of poor eyesight to move stealthily, but as they moved, its pupils followed them.

This was very bad news; the other party could see.

Fear surged in their hearts once more.

Beth gripped the gun in her hand and tremblingly raised it to aim.

Rebecca whispered, "Beth, don't shoot yet. Let's confirm if its target is really us."

Her thinking was still somewhat calm. If this creature, with its size, charged at them, a gun wouldn't necessarily kill it, but they would definitely be doomed.

Rebecca's thoughts were good, but reality often contradicted them.

Before they could make their next move.

The Evil Spirit Wendigo dropped to all fours and charged at the three of them. Startled, Beth fired several shots in rapid succession.

Every shot hit its mark. If it were a carbon-based lifeform, it would be dead by now.

But the Evil Spirit Wendigo only cried out in pain before lunging at Beth with even greater ferocity. With a backhand slap, it sent her flying, person and bag, into the blood pool, her fate unknown.

Rebecca turned and ran. Sarah stumbled back two steps and sat on the ground, staring blankly at the monster before her. She was going to die...

"Sarah!"

The Evil Spirit Wendigo heard the voice and slowly turned its head, still holding a human head, dripping with fluids...

Juno watched the familiar face in the Evil Spirit Wendigo's hand, her emotions on the verge of collapse. Shaking her head, she raised her hand and pulled the trigger.

"Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang."

"Roar!"

The Evil Spirit Wendigo roared in anger. It threw down the head, opened its bloody maw, and lunged at Juno.

Juno also became enraged. After emptying her bullets, she drew her ice pick and roared, engaging the Evil Spirit Wendigo in a one-on-one battle.

Juno had indeed unleashed her full power. Her best friend's death had caused her combat strength to skyrocket, but it couldn't change the outcome.

If even the handgun bullets couldn't penetrate the Evil Spirit Wendigo's skin, an ice pick was even less likely to do so.

The ice pick in Juno's hand was directly swatted away by the Evil Spirit Wendigo with a single claw. It then pinned her to the ground, opened its mouth, and prepared for a "golden headshot," its movements fluid and without hesitation.

Li Dan, who had been watching from the sidelines, couldn't let that happen. If Juno died, there would be one less person to share the firepower. Moreover, this was a good opportunity.

He aimed his rifle at the moment the Evil Spirit Wendigo opened its mouth and unleashed a barrage of bullets without hesitation.

The Evil Spirit Wendigo stood up, clutching its neck, and retreated a few steps. Even with its tough hide, taking a burst of bullets wasn't easy; its insides were still soft.

It let out a strange sound, coughed up a pool of blood onto the ground, and crouched down.

Li Dan didn't give the Evil Spirit Wendigo a chance to breathe, continuing his suppressive fire with short bursts from his rifle.

At the same time, he took out the Ghost Card. It displayed "Unable to Contain?"

That shouldn't be right. Logically, most anomalies could be contained if severely injured, unless...

Li Dan looked at the Evil Spirit Wendigo, a sudden sense of foreboding washing over him.

Seeing Juno preparing to press her attack, Li Dan quickly called out to her.

"Don't go over there, something's wrong with it!"

Juno, blinded by rage, couldn't hear Li Dan's words. She picked up her ice pick and charged forward.

Before she could get close, she was blasted away. The Evil Spirit Wendigo roared at the sky, black smoke billowing from its body, its skin constantly swelling like boiling water. The next second, bones pierced through its skin, emerging in dense clusters.

It no longer looked like a carbon-based lifeform.

Due to the bone spurs, its size appeared to have increased by a third. Its pupils glowed blood red as it stared intently at Li Dan.

Putting aside everything else, this appearance alone was enough to scare adults and children to tears, let alone in the oppressive environment of a cave.

Li Dan forced a smile that looked worse than crying.

"Would you believe me if I said I didn't mean to do that just now?"

The Evil Spirit Wendigo opened its mouth, and bullets were squeezed out from its body, falling to the ground. Its voice echoed clearly in the cave.

Well, it seemed it didn't believe him.

The Ghost Card also displayed a message: "Anomaly has been possessed by an Evil Spirit."

Seeing the creature's current state, Li Dan felt a strong urge to run. However, with his aggro maxed out, he figured even if he ran, the creature would still fixate on him.

Rustling sounds came from overhead.

At Li Dan's instruction, the six Wendigo lackeys pretended to approach the Evil Spirit Wendigo and surround it.

Juno staggered to her feet, despair washing over her. If even a rifle couldn't kill it, this was no ordinary monster.

It seemed she was destined to die here today...

If only she hadn't taken it upon herself to change their exploration site, perhaps this nightmare wouldn't have happened.

Beth and Rebecca returned from the other side. Beth, covered in blood from crawling out of the blood pool, still had the conscience to want to escape with Li Dan.

Juno picked up the ice axe from the ground.

"Rebecca, you guys run. I'll hold them off."

"We can't run. It's already set its sights on us," Li Dan said, pulling a combat knife and two handguns from his waist.

He gave the guns to Beth and Rebecca, and the combat knife to Juno.

They were using everything they could.

"Ready?" Li Dan asked.

Juno nodded, gripping the combat knife tightly.

Beth and Rebecca took cover to the side, aiming their Rocloc pistols.

The tactic was clear: Juno would act as a meat shield in front, with Li Dan, Beth, and the others providing cover fire.

A hint of human-like cruelty flickered in the Evil Spirit Wendigo's eyes, the look of a predator sizing up its prey. It wasn't afraid of them escaping; in fact, escape would only whet its appetite.

Unfortunately for it, the prey chose to fight back instead of flee.

Li Dan raised his rifle and opened fire instantly. The gunshot was like a signal. The six lackeys surrounding the Evil Spirit Wendigo immediately attacked, jumping onto it and tearing at it ferociously.

Juno, though unsure why these monsters were fighting amongst themselves, knew this was an opportunity and charged forward.

Li Dan provided covering fire from the side, firing a burst now and then.

There was a difference between monsters.

The Evil Spirit Wendigo was annoyed by these pests. It didn't understand why they had suddenly turned on it, but it didn't matter. With an elbow strike, its bone spur pierced through one of them.

Li Dan watched as his minion's eyes quickly lost their light, and it was flung aside like a piece of rotten meat by the Evil Spirit Wendigo. He felt a pang of heartache.

After all, he had painstakingly taken them in!

Li Dan unleashed his final trump cards: the deformed person boss and the second-in-command. The boss wielded a cleaver, and the second-in-command held a bow and arrow.

Li Dan, rifle in hand, charged forward, with the deformed person boss right behind him.

The second-in-command followed at the rear with the bow and arrow. In this situation, sniping from the shadows wouldn't be very effective; a direct firefight was better.

Juno had already reached the Evil Spirit Wendigo, joined by Beth and Rebecca providing cover.
