"Kid, once you go there and train under Kami, you're bound to get stronger!" Master Roshi urged, trying to persuade him again.
"No way!" Broly shook his head. "I don't want to get stronger! I just want to eat well and sleep well."
Master Roshi was momentarily speechless.
You've really carried half the spirit of the Turtle School to its fullest!
"Then I'll head out now—can't keep Kami waiting too long." Son Goku replied, then asked Broly, "Broly, you really won't come?"
"No." Broly nodded.
"Forget it, Goku, go on your own!" Master Roshi said with a helpless look, waving his hand repeatedly.
The others followed Son Goku out to the beach in front of Master Roshi's House.
"Flying Nimbus!"
Son Goku stopped, tilted his head back, and called out to the sky.
"Whoosh!"
At his call, a dazzling golden cloud came whistling from the distant horizon, stopping steadily in front of him.
Son Goku leaped lightly, landing nimbly on the Flying Nimbus.
"Everyone, I'm off!" Son Goku stood on the cloud, turned around, and waved vigorously at the group seeing him off on the beach, a bright, sunny smile on his face.
"Safe travels, Goku!"
They all waved back, shouting their farewells loudly.
"Broly." Son Goku's gaze finally landed on Broly, who was still by the porch, happily eating a bowl of Chiaotzu. His smile faded a little, his eyes turning serious.
"What?" Broly looked up from his bowl, a bit dazed, staring at Son Goku.
"If I train with Kami, once I'm good enough, how about we have a real fight?" Son Goku proposed, his eyes full of longing for an all-out, thrilling battle.
"Not interested." Broly didn't even think about it, shaking his head outright, refusing with absolute decisiveness and no hesitation.
In Broly's simple, straightforward value system, why fight for no reason?
It's tiring, troublesome, and might dirty your clothes and ruin your appetite.
Isn't eating well and sleeping well way better?
That's the true meaning of life.
The anticipation on Son Goku's face froze instantly, and he was left speechless by Broly's blunt refusal.
Son Goku knew Broly's personality—he understood that Broly genuinely had no interest in fighting, not that he was afraid.
"But, Broly," Son Goku quickly adjusted his attitude, flashing a confident smile again as he said to Broly, "you should train a bit with Grandpa too... otherwise, when I come back from Kami's place, I might just surpass you!"
"No way, too boring." Broly shook his head again, his tone still flat.
It was as if immense power held less appeal to Broly than the last dumpling in his bowl.
"Haha, you're still the same Broly I know! Haven't changed a bit!" Instead of getting angry, Son Goku laughed heartily at Broly's consistent laziness. "Alright, I'm off! See you all later! I'll come back to see you once I'm stronger!"
With that, Son Goku wasted no more time. With a thought, the Flying Nimbus beneath him turned into a streak of golden light, shooting him into the sky.
Before long, thanks to the Flying Nimbus's speed, Son Goku was back atop the towering Korin Tower.
Master Korin was still there, leaning on his cane, smiling warmly.
Yajirobe was sprawled out on the tower's floor, rubbing his still slightly bloated belly.
"Already said your goodbyes?" Master Korin asked, looking at Son Goku descending from the sky with a kind smile.
"Pretty fast, huh!" Yajirobe struggled to sit up, looking at the energetic Son Goku and couldn't help but remark.
"All said." Son Goku nodded, landing smoothly.
"Now then, take the Power Pole and go to the very center of the tower top." Master Korin pointed with his cane.
"Yes!" Son Goku obeyed, pulling the extendable Power Pole from behind his back.
Under Master Korin's guidance, Son Goku and Yajirobe came to the edge of the platform at the very top of Korin Tower.
"See that up there?" Master Korin raised his cane and pointed. "There's a groove, right? That's the passage to the temple. Stick your Power Pole into it!"
Son Goku looked down at the tower top and, sure enough, found a groove that matched the shape of the Power Pole's end.
Then, following instructions, Son Goku carefully inserted the Power Pole.
"Alright, just let the Power Pole extend, and it'll keep going upward until it reaches the temple floating in the sky." Master Korin nodded with a smile, watching the ready Son Goku.
"Got it. Then I'm off!" Son Goku took a deep breath.
"Hey, hey, hold on!" Yajirobe suddenly seemed to remember something and called out to stop Son Goku. "If you're really going to meet that legendary Kami, isn't it a bit rude to go dressed in those rags? Want to change?"
"It's fine—they'll just get torn again anyway." Master Korin chuckled meaningfully, cutting in first, a cat-like smirk on his face.
"Why do you say that?" Son Goku blinked, looking a bit confused, and asked, "Is Kami... some kind of scary guy?"
"No, not at all. He's a very kind, very merciful person." Master Korin quickly shook his head in denial, his mysterious smile still intact. "But... he might test you a bit, see what you're made of and how determined you are. Don't worry, go ahead—you won't die!"
"What the heck! That sounds pretty dangerous to me." Yajirobe winced from the side, couldn't help but complain.
"It's fine. Since I said I'd go check it out, I can't just back out now." Son Goku was easygoing about it, shaking his head to brush off those unknown dangers, a look of eager anticipation returning to his face.
The next moment, Goku stopped overthinking. Gripping the Power Pole tightly with both hands, he called out loudly, "Power Pole, extend! Keep going up!"
"Whoosh--!"
As Goku's words fell, the Power Pole seemed to be infused with boundless vitality, emitting a faint hum before beginning to stretch upward at an astonishing speed, growing longer!
The pole carried Goku along like a rocket, shooting him up into the higher, more distant sky!
The fierce wind whipped Goku's hair back and pressed his clothes tight against his body.
"That guy sure looks excited, not a shred of fear in him." Yajirobe craned his neck, watching Goku's figure grow smaller and smaller atop the Power Pole, and couldn't help but remark.
