Background / History
Yu Feng was a spirit-field farmer of Ox Ridge Settlement whose foremost concern was the survival and future of his three sons. When Blessed Land quotas became prohibitively expensive, he chose to remain in the Settlement, organized the construction of a taller stone courtyard wall, and secretly guarded a Rare Species sapling in his yard. His original plan was to exchange the sapling for an Immortal Destiny after Yu Dashan reached Perfection of Fetal Movement. 6 8
He stayed behind as his family departed toward New Moon Blessed Land, refusing neighbors' offers to join forces so that he could protect the sapling. He named the little tree Yu An, later revering it as the Elm Ancestor. 17 83 During the wind disaster, he trusted Yu An's guidance, joined forces with the Wolf Bear against insectoids, and fought despite being vastly outmatched by Qi Refining Realm enemies. 53 55 76
After surviving the disaster and gaining Immortal Destiny, Yu Feng's body was rejuvenated and his cultivation accelerated sharply. He found and delivered the Bloodthirsty Vine to the Elm Ancestor, then helped lead the Yu family away from Ox Ridge Settlement after New Moon Blessed Land began pursuing them for the Rare Species. 60 89 92 95
In Pan Valley, Yu Feng continued farming, training with his sons, and guarding the Elm Ancestor's interests. He helped create the conditions for Cangwu Blessed Land by offering Yan Yuheng the opportunity to become its lord, choosing him for his reputation, principles, and ability to gather former New Moon Blessed Land families. 96 167 168
Upon reaching the Foundation Establishment Realm, Yu Feng realized that the Yu family had become overly focused on cultivation while neglecting its bloodline. He rebuked his sons and their households, insisting that the family's prosperity required both strength and descendants. 189 By the time he reached the Golden Core Realm, he remained deeply concerned for Yu Xiaoshan's safety and regarded every family member's duty as part of Pan Valley's future. 350
Appearance
Immortal Destiny restored much of Yu Feng's vigor: his hair turned black, his wrinkles lessened, and he appeared roughly ten years younger. After reaching the Qi Refining Realm mid-stage, he was described as more robust and youthful. 60 136
- Initially appeared as an elderly Settlement farmer. 6
- Carried and fought with a long spear during the early wind-disaster period. 53 55
- His ironwood spear was shattered when a Qi Refining Realm insectoid severely wounded him. 76
Personality
Yu Feng is defined by his willingness to take personal risks for his family. He remained in Ox Ridge during the Black Annihilation Wind Disaster to protect Yu An and preserve a future path for his sons, even while believing that he might die there. 6 17
He is cautious with secrets and resources. He hid the sapling's existence to prevent false hopes, returned Spirit Stones offered by Zhao Kun because Zhao's household needed them, and repeatedly refused alliances that might endanger the Elm Ancestor. 6 7 17
As a father, Yu Feng can be stern and direct. He beat Yu Dashan for attempting to join the Zhou family's Insect Hunter Team without permission, then later chastised the entire family for neglecting bloodline continuation. 8 189 His attachment to farming never disappears even after entering the Qi Refining Realm; seeing fertile land and a secure food supply helps settle his mind. 96
Abilities & Skills
Cultivation
Yu Feng's cultivation rose from Fetal Movement Major Accomplishment to the Golden Core Realm through Immortal Destiny, the Elm Ancestor's blessings, repeated tempering, and his own breakthroughs. 60 96 159 189 350
- Used his aura to pressure Bai Yao as part of his own conditioning and combat training. 96
- Could initially exert only about half of his Qi Refining strength because he lacked a suitable cultivation technique. 104
- His Foundation Establishment breakthrough increased the underlying foundation of Yu An's Blessed Land. 189
Spear Combat
Yu Feng wielded a spear in defense of his home and the Elm Ancestor, fighting alongside Bai Yao against insectoids during the wind disaster. 53 55
- Charged a locust-like insectoid without hesitation while armed with his spear. 55
- Could not match a Qi Refining Realm insectoid at Perfection of Fetal Movement; its attack shattered his ironwood spear and inflicted a severe chest wound. 76
Farming and Resource Assessment
Having farmed for most of his life, Yu Feng possesses practical knowledge of Spirit Fields, soil quality, food reserves, and survival in unsettled territory. 6 96
- Recognized the improved quality of land enhanced by Yu An's Benefit All Spiritual Power. 96
- Located a water source and evaluated nearby wild beasts, fruit trees, and the White Wave River when the family relocated near the Great Rift Valley. 93
- Searched the wilderness for rare plants after the Black Annihilation Wind Disaster subsided. 85

- Zhao Kun — Neighbor and friend. Zhao Kun tried to persuade Yu Feng to leave Ox Ridge and gifted him protective plant juice; Yu Feng returned Zhao's offered Spirit Stones out of consideration for Zhao's family. 7 15
- Tiezhu — Neighbor who sought to pool defenses during the wind disaster. Yu Feng accepted his help reinforcing the walls but declined to merge their households' plans. 7
- Yan Yuheng — Chosen by Yu Feng to become Cangwu Blessed Land's lord. Yu Feng judged Yan's family principled and dependable enough to cooperate with the Yu family. 167 168
