Background / History

The Ancient Immortal Sect was once a powerful sect whose territory possessed converging spiritual energy and a dragon-vein aura; Dugu Jiu Meng attributed much of its former strength to this land. It was later nearly destroyed in a calamity whose cause remains concealed from Xu Qing, while Dugu Jiu Meng was believed to have fought his way out alone before disappearing. 705 762

The Ancient Immortal Gate is revealed to connect to the sect and the Cosmic Sea. After Xu Qing opens the gate and crosses it with his group, they arrive at the sect’s desolate ruins. 697 702 703

Dugu Jiu Meng reappears to assert the sect’s territorial claim. The Four Alliances ultimately permit the sect to retain 30% of its territory, after which reconstruction begins with Dugu Jiu Meng’s guidance and Fei Lian Sect assistance. 705

Return and reconstruction

Xu Qing discovers the Ancient Immortal Sect through the Immortal Gate and enters its ruins. The sect is then re-established after Dugu Jiu Meng’s return secures recognition of part of its former territory. 697 703 705

Establishing authority

Xu Qing uses the sect’s surviving prestige and his own strength to mediate a dispute between the Qing Yu Sect and Tie Xue Sect, requiring them to jointly explore an immortal ruin and surrender 30% of the proceeds. 706

Growth of the sect

Following Xu Qing’s Dao Heart breakthrough, a Heaven and Earth Blessing causes collective breakthroughs among the disciples. Xu Qing subsequently assigns elders and disciples tasks to reinforce the sect’s foundations and external ties. 757

Absorption of Azure Sword Sect

The Ancient Immortal Sect destroys Azure Sword Sect’s resistance, investigates those involved in abducting mortals, executes the guilty, and accepts only 123 remaining disciples. Azure Sword Sect becomes a branch of the Ancient Immortal Sect. 766 767

Defense of the Four Alliances

The sect responds to Demon Race attacks on Fei Lian Sect territory and later joins the other alliances against a massive beast tide at Heavenly Wolf Mountain. 779 780 808

Ancient Immortal crisis

The sect investigates the fallout of an Ancient Immortal corpse and abnormal creatures. Its members learn that Ancient Immortal Blood can restrain or eliminate abnormal creatures, allowing it to be forged into divine weapons. 810 812
