Duobao's residence was in a small courtyard near the Spirit Mountain's spiritual garden.
A clump of Bitter Bamboo grew in one corner of the courtyard. A pot of Clear Tea and several Spirit Fruits sat on the stone table.
Duobao was seated at the table, handling Jade Slips. A thick stack was piled to his left, while the approved ones were placed neatly to his right, sorted into categories.
When Su Miao pushed open the door and entered, Duobao was bent over a list of supplies, writing annotations.
He processed documents extremely quickly. With just one glance at each Jade Slip, he could grasp the key points, and his annotations were swift and precise.
"Duobao," Su Miao called.
Duobao looked up. The moment he saw her, a delighted smile bloomed across his face.
He set down the Jade Slip in his hand, rose to his feet, and bowed to Su Miao.
"Little senior sister, you're here."
Su Miao sat across from him at the stone table, casually picked up a Spirit Fruit, and took a bite. Its juice was sweet and refreshing.
She looked around. Though the courtyard was small, it stood in an area of Spirit Mountain where the Spiritual Qi was especially dense. Zhunti had clearly chosen the place with great care.
"How have you been living here?"
Duobao returned to his stone stool and shifted the stack of unapproved Jade Slips aside, clearing more space for Su Miao.
"Quite well. Master Zhunti and Master Jieyin don't concern themselves much with specific matters. They only ask about major affairs.
"I handle the daily sect affairs. It's a little busy, but fulfilling."
Su Miao could tell that Duobao had become much more steady than he had been at Kunlun.
Back on Upper Purity Peak, he had always been overly
