Logistics Soldier Camp.

Li Lei was pacing anxiously outside the camp.

Although he and Li Xuan shared the same surname, they were not related by blood—it was merely a coincidence of both belonging to the large Li clan.

If one had to describe the relationship between the two, it could only be called rivalry.

Belonging to the same military camp and both having received the task of instructing newcomers, they were naturally in competition.

After returning from the War Soldier training grounds, Li Lei had wanted to seek Li Xuan for an explanation, to see if Gu Han still had a sliver of hope.

But he learned that Li Xuan had also not returned to camp.

Just as Li Lei was growing anxious, he suddenly spotted several figures in the distance—Gu Chen and his brothers—walking toward the Logistics Camp.

Li Lei's heart skipped a beat, and he silently thought, This is bad.

Gulp.

Li Lei swallowed hard, forced a smile, and braced himself to greet them.

When Gu Chen saw Li Lei, he chuckled lightly and pulled out a money pouch, handing it to him.

"Brother Li Lei, has Gu Han returned yet?"

Li Lei was, after all, considered a senior to Gu Han, and though he was only a Logistics Soldier, Gu Chen wouldn't look down on him.

Seeing Gu Chen's amiable attitude only made Li Lei's scalp tingle even more.

He couldn't imagine the uproar Gu Chen would cause in the camp if he found out something had happened to Gu Han!

With that thought, Li Lei decided to stall for time.

Maybe Gu Han was lucky enough not to have been caught by Li Xuan, or perhaps Li Xuan had only taught him a lesson without killing him.

Though Li Lei knew that, given Li Xuan's temperament, this possibility was slim.

Still, he intended to delay as long as he could, at least until Li Xuan returned to share some of the pressure.

Let Gu Chen's anger be directed at Li Xuan.

Li Lei forced a flattering smile.

"Gu Han hasn't come back yet. How about you all come back in the evening?"

Gu Chen didn't think much of it and simply waved his hand.

"No need. We'll just wait here for a while."

With that, Gu Chen led his brothers toward a few tents in the distance.

Li Lei could only grit his teeth and follow along.

This area of the camp was specifically used for Logistics Soldiers to tally the spoils of their hunting expeditions.

All the Logistics Soldiers' harvests would be recorded and ranked accordingly.

Those at the top of the rankings would receive corresponding rewards.

At this moment, a few Logistics Soldier squads had already returned to camp, handing over their bundles to the staff for counting.

Since many Logistics Soldiers wanted to hunt more prey to achieve higher rankings, they wouldn't return too early.

Gu Chen understood this, and knowing that Gu Han was a competitive person, he had no suspicions about his absence.

Around the staff counting the bundles, a crowd of Logistics Soldiers had gathered to watch.

A wave of gasps and startled exclamations rippled through the crowd.

"Tsk, those bundles are so full—how many prey are in there?"

"If those are all rabbits, it's probably at least four or five times what our squad got!"

"Tsk, comparing people really drives you crazy."

"Maybe they just got lucky and found a spot with more rabbits."

Among the Logistics Soldiers, some were envious, while others, unable to get the grapes, claimed they were sour.

But Li Lei wasn't surprised at all—instead, his face turned grim.

Because this four-man squad was none other than Ma Tie and his group!

The fact that only Ma Tie's four had returned meant that, at least for now, Gu Han was most likely still in danger.

Gu Chen and the others, exhausted after a day of training, were already starving.

They sat off to the side, eating to fill their stomachs while watching the staff tally things up, completely oblivious to Li Lei's change.

The staff member also shot Ma Tie and his companions a surprised glance.

Just the weight of these spoils alone would rank in the upper-middle among Logistics Soldiers from previous years!

He hoisted the Snakeskin Bag and dumped everything inside onto the table.

A wave of incredulous gasps erupted from the surroundings.

"This... how is this possible?"

The staff member was stunned too—among the prey, there was actually a Green Wolf?

Although this Green Wolf looked like it hadn't reached adulthood yet, its value was nothing that a Great White Rabbit or Great Gray Rabbit could match.

Ma Tie, worried about Gu Han's safety, didn't let the surrounding admiration go to his head.

"Excuse me, could you please tally it up?"

Hearing Ma Tie's voice, the staff member snapped back to reality.

"Sorry, please wait a moment."

All wild beasts had fixed Logistics Points, and the staff member quickly finished calculating the results.

"One Green Wolf, twenty Logistics Points. Fifteen rabbits, fifteen Logistics Points."

"Total: thirty-five Logistics Points!"

As the staff member's words fell, a commotion rippled through the crowd.

"Thirty-five points? We busted our asses all afternoon and only got seven damn points. Thirty-five points? That's off the charts!"

"That's a Green Wolf, man. One Green Wolf is worth the haul of three of our squads!"

"Heh, just lucky to have killed a Green Wolf, that's all."

"Don't give me that crap. If you ran into a Green Wolf, you'd be running faster than a dog, let alone killing it!"

Though the onlookers were envious, only Ma Tie and his three knew that this bounty was entirely thanks to Gu Han.

Otherwise, relying on just the four of them, their catch would have been at least halved!

And killing this Green Wolf? That would have been a pipe dream!

But Gu Han, who had contributed the most, was now missing, alive or dead, while all the gains went to the four of them.

At the edge of the crowd, Fang Yan and other Logistics Soldiers had just returned from the wilds when they spotted Ma Tie and his group basking in everyone's envy. He let out a cold snort.

"Just a Green Wolf. What's the big deal?"

Someone nearby heard this and shot him a look like he was an idiot.

A Green Wolf? Did he think just anyone could kill one?

Ma Tie glared at Fang Yan with hostile eyes. If this bastard hadn't tried to snatch their Green Wolf, leading to Li Xuan's retaliation, how would Gu Han have gone missing?

Fang Yan swaggered past Ma Tie with an arrogant expression, and only then did others notice that Fang Yan was dragging a massive bundle!

It was no less impressive than the bundle Ma Tie and his group had just submitted!

Not only that, but Fang Yan's companions also had bundles strapped to their backs!
