Background

Tang San was raised by his father, Tang Hao, whom he initially regarded as a neglectful drunkard; Tang San performed the household work from childhood. Yu Xiaogang's care made Tang San view him as a father figure, strengthening their master-disciple bond. 129

He entered the Star Dou Great Forest to acquire a third Soul Ring and endured extreme pain while absorbing a Man Faced Demon Spider Soul Ring that exceeded 2,000 years. The absorption transformed his body, evolved his Blue Silver Grass, and produced the Eight Spider Lances. 239 240 241

Tang San later learned that Tang Hao was the Clear Sky Douluo and that he carried the direct bloodline of the hidden Clear Sky Sect. Rather than relying on that status, Tang San resolved to prioritize strength and prove himself through cultivation. 323 325 327

After Xiao Wu's transformation, Tang San lost his dominant right arm. Tang Hao brought him to a hidden forest where the arm was restored, then began personally training him in the use of the Clear Sky Hammer. 429 431 434

Tang Hao sealed Tang San's Soul Power and subjected him to waterfall training, forcing him to master the eighty-one strikes of the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer through physical strength alone. The training remedied Tang San's lack of explosive power. 435 447 451

Tang San subsequently entered Slaughter City under Tang Hao's guidance. He survived its lawless environment, accumulated sixty-seven Hell Slaughter Arena victories in one year, completed the Hell Road, and acquired the Slaughter God's Domain. 458 465 475

He returned to the Clear Sky Sect seeking to atone for Tang Hao's past actions. Though initially met with hostility, Tang San demonstrated his strength against the sect's younger generation and elders. 481 487 488

Appearance

Tang San is initially described as fair-skinned and physically well-built. Following his waterfall training, his skin takes on a healthy bronze tone, his height increases, and his eyes are compared to cold stars. 241 447

  • Eight three-meter-long purplish-black spider legs can emerge from his back after acquiring the Eight Spider Lances. 241
  • His Blue Silver Grass evolves into a thin, lustrous blue-purple form after absorbing the Man Faced Demon Spider Soul Ring. 240 251
  • His Clear Sky Hammer bears white cloud-like patterns after gaining the Slaughter God's Domain. 475 487
  • After becoming a god, he has white hair and blood-red demonic facial patterns. 587

Personality

Tang San is resilient, disciplined, and highly strategic. He withstands the agony of an excessive Soul Ring, endures Spirit Douluo-level pressure without yielding, and repeatedly chooses dangerous training or combat paths to improve himself. 240 300 447

As Shrek's control-type Soul Master, he prioritizes the team over personal benefit. He chooses the ten-thousand-year Cave Demon Spider for its anticipated group-control potential rather than selecting a Man Faced Demon Spider that would better strengthen his Eight Spider Lances. 332

He is generally humble toward mentors and the Clear Sky Sect, accepting responsibility for his father's actions and offering assistance even to sect disciples who initially treat him with hostility. 481 483

Slaughter City changes him profoundly. Its continuous violence leaves him cold, bloodthirsty, and ruthless, though he retains enough clarity to recognize the city as a place he intends to destroy. 465 475

After becoming a god, Tang San becomes arrogant and contemptuous of those he considers beneath him. He demands to be addressed as “Lord God,” kills a villager for speaking disrespectfully, and disregards Tang Hao's attempts to restrain him. 587

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer, a rare Twin Martial Soul combination revealed publicly when Yu Xiaogang orders him to summon the hammer. 323

  • Blue Silver Grass — A control-oriented Martial Soul known for versatility but considered weak by Yu Xiaogang. 249 331
  • Clear Sky Hammer — A heavy, overwhelmingly powerful weapon Martial Soul inherited through Tang Hao and the Clear Sky Sect. 323 326
  • Limitation — Yu Xiaogang advises him not to use the Clear Sky Hammer unnecessarily, particularly during the Advanced Soul Master Academy Competition. 327
  • Loss — By his return to the Clear Sky Sect, Tang San states that his Blue Silver Grass has been severed by Lin Du's sword, leaving him to fight with the Clear Sky Hammer. 487

Blue Silver Grass Control

The Man Faced Demon Spider Soul Ring makes Tang San's Blue Silver Grass tougher and grants it corrosive poison. 251

  • Spider Web Restraint — Instantly creates a large web of Blue Silver Grass with the grass's toughness and poison plus extreme adhesive force. 251
  • The skill tightly binds targets on contact but consumes approximately one-third of Tang San's Soul Power per use at the time it is first tested. 251
  • Blue Silver Cage — Uses his fourth Soul Ring to imprison multiple opponents within a cage of Blue Silver Grass. 362

Eight Spider Lances

An External Spirit Bone acquired alongside the Man Faced Demon Spider Soul Ring, manifesting as eight spider legs from Tang San's back. 241 249

  • Its emergence damages or destroys the back of his clothing. 303

Tang Sect Techniques

Tang San employs techniques beyond conventional Soul Master abilities.

  • Mysterious Jade Hand — Hardens his hands sufficiently to withstand exploding wind blades in close combat. 385
  • Hidden Weapons — Uses steel needles, flying daggers, and other concealed weapons effectively, especially in Slaughter City where Soul Skills are unavailable. 465
  • Godly Zhuge Crossbow — Used against the three-headed Dark Gold Bat King. 471
  • Flying Sky Divine Claw — A grappling tool used for movement and recovery in dangerous terrain. 491 475

Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer

A Clear Sky Sect-exclusive hammer technique that stacks the force of consecutive strikes. 387 447

  • Tang San masters all eighty-one hammers after three months of training beneath a waterfall while his Soul Power is sealed. 447 448
  • Its final combined strike can exceed his ordinary peak attack power even without Soul Power. 447
  • With the Clear Sky Hammer and instantaneous Soul Power infusion, he reverses a two-hundred-meter waterfall and resolves his former lack of explosive power. 451
  • He uses it to counter Feng Xiaotian's Thirty-Six Consecutive Slashes of the Gale Demon Wolf. 387
