The instant that circular halo appeared, the surrounding void seemed to grow half a beat quieter.

Law runes extended from the halo's edge, transforming into dozens of dense, slender tendrils that slowly unfurled through the air, like some dangerous deep-sea creature cautiously extending its limbs.
