"Do we have any more matches today?" Jiang Yang asked Mingri Qing beside him as he packed up his peripherals.
Since arriving in Stockholm, Mingri Qing had basically taken on the roles of coach and team manager. Jiang Yang would ask her about things like the match schedule.
Mingri Qing shook her head. "Every team will finish the first round today, and then the 0–1 teams will play another match. Tomorrow will be more complicated. After the second round, the 2–0 teams will go straight onstage to compete, and the first three teams to qualify will be decided."
Major matches used the Swiss system, which meant you could only face opponents with the same record as you.
With promotion and elimination matches played as BO3s, qualifying carried much more weight.
"Then tomorrow's qualifying teams are in for a rough time," Jiang Yang said. "They'll probably just have finished a BO1, won't even know who their opponent is, and then get dragged straight into a BO3."
Mingri Qing chuckled softly. "Didn't you realize that Helmet could qualify?"
Jiang Yang froze for a moment, then caught on.
After beating Heroic, Helmet was now in the 1–0 group. If they won their match tomorrow, they would have to play another one that same day.
"Sounds like it could be tricky." Jiang Yang bundled up his peripherals. "But I still hope we get to play a BO3 tomorrow, because at least that would mean we're in a position to qualify."
He turned to MO. "Captain, do we have anything else to do later?"
MO rested both hands on Jiang Yang's shoulders and pushed him along. "We'll probably get on a call with your cousin, then head back and review the match. That should be it."
Helmet didn't have a coach for the time being,
