Background / History

Jiang Yang finished his college entrance examinations at sixteen and entered university as a civil-engineering freshman. Unsure about his major and future, he accepted Ma Xixi’s offer to spend the summer as a CSBOY livestream assistant, reading comments, thanking donors, and helping maintain the stream’s atmosphere. He had previously played CS:GO with classmates in high school, mostly at C+ rank, and returned to the game while watching his cousin play. 1

He received the Old Timer Comeback System, which gave him a placement-match mission, the item Sleeping Black Tea, and the Hunter’s ECO Special Tactics skill. The system’s rewards, missions, shop, and training functions became the foundation of his rapid improvement. 3 87 245

After falling in love with the process of becoming stronger and competing alongside teammates, Jiang Yang decided to pursue professional CS:GO while initially remaining enrolled at university. Ma Xixi later helped persuade his parents, arrange his leave of absence, and bring him to live at his home so Jiang Yang could focus on competition. 20 26

Jiang Yang joined Steel Helmets to gain competitive experience, helped them reach the Stockholm Major Legends Stage, and drew international attention through his performances. He subsequently chose European development, first selecting Mouz’s second team to build synergy with future teammates. 25 70 88

He later joined G2 as a substitute at IEM Katowice, adapting to a rifle-oriented free role while retaining his ambition to be an AWP-centered core. G2 won the tournament, and Jiang Yang earned the IEM Katowice MVP award at seventeen. 91 133 136

After Katowice, he formed a new path with siuhy and joined GL under pasha’s coaching. GL’s system increasingly centered on Jiang Yang’s sniper pressure and individual initiative; the team ultimately won the Antwerp Major, where he became the youngest Major MVP in CS:GO history. 134 136 244

Appearance

Jiang Yang is repeatedly noted for his unusually handsome, masculine appearance, which brings him attention well beyond the CS:GO community. He is tall enough that teammates speculate he may reach 1.9 meters, with a leaner build than heavily built players such as blameF. 10 70 106

  • Often described as resembling a celebrity even without makeup. 10
  • Was voted his university freshmen’s “Campus Hunk” during military training. 20
  • Wore a black padded jacket, blue jeans, and a buzz cut when arriving to join G2. 91
  • His appearance frequently draws autograph requests and photo requests from fans. 181 247

Personality

Jiang Yang is intensely competitive and has little patience for being underestimated. After defeating a highly rated opponent with Steel Helmets, he stated that criticism could only be answered by “beating them into submission.” Losses can affect him strongly; after failing a clutch against The Bees, he hit a table hard enough to injure his hand. 56 82

Despite his natural talent, he treats practice as necessary rather than optional. He trains when teammates are asleep, studies demos and professional players, and deliberately works on weaknesses in game understanding, utility, rifles, and movement. He explicitly rejects relying on instinct alone. 56 71 76 273

Away from matches, Jiang Yang is playful, sharp-tongued, and fond of teasing teammates and friends. He can be openly proud of his achievements—particularly around trophies and medals—while still crediting teammates and helping viewers with ranked-play advice. 114 215 247

Abilities & Skills

Jiang Yang’s System issues missions and rewards him with Comeback Points, skills, items, and Hextech tools. Its profile labels him as an “Old Timer” despite his real age. 3 20

  • Has rewarded skills such as Elige’s Spray Transfer Technique, NIKO’s Pre-aiming, and Donk’s Counter-Strafing Technique. 87 255 354

Marksmanship and Reaction Speed

Jiang Yang possesses exceptional reaction speed, aim stability, recoil control, and target switching. His system listed Reaction at Professional Lv. 8 while he was still climbing Perfect World. 20

  • Can rapidly reposition his crosshair and convert information into immediate kills. 208 258
  • Developed high-level spray transfer through practice and System rewards. 107 255
  • Uses a “Z-shaped jitter” movement pattern to make his head harder to track during rifle duels. 354 355
  • His 100-bot aim exercise was completed in 44 seconds without warming up. 135

Sniper Rifle Proficiency

Sniping is Jiang Yang’s preferred role and earliest professional specialty. He reached Professional Lv. 5 sniper proficiency before becoming Perfect World’s top player and later progressed to Professional Lv. 6. 20 51

  • Excels at fast flicks, aggressive peeks, blind shots, and clutch AWP play. 18 165 229
  • Initially built his sniper ability through daily positioning drills, 100 shots of practice, and replay study rather than dedicated AWP training. 20
  • Uses sniper pressure to secure opening kills and create favorable 4v5 situations for his team. 354
  • His insistence on remaining a primary sniper caused friction when GL considered using him more as a rifle entry player. 150

ECO and Pistol-Round Mastery

Jiang Yang’s signature strength is exploiting low-economy rounds. His advanced ECO trait treats the sound of an enemy pistol as an opportunity to dramatically increase his output. 30

  • Earned the nickname of an ECO specialist through repeated multi-kills in anti-ECO and force-buy rounds. 13 141 206
  • Is especially dangerous with the Desert Eagle, USP, MP9, and other inexpensive weapons. 67 196 291
  • Favors the Taser as an economical and psychological weapon, claiming he practiced it extensively before using it in professional matches. 104 114
  • His habit of reacting to enemy pistol sounds became a recognized in-game meme and tactical threat. 103 130

Game Sense, Positioning, and Utility

Originally reliant on instinct, Jiang Yang actively developed his tactical understanding through replay study, minimap observation, commentary analysis, and professional practice. 20 89

  • Uses unconventional positioning to force advantageous duels rather than merely finding them. 245
  • Can operate as a free player, lurker, entry fragger, or rifle-based breakout player when a round requires it. 104 112 150
  • Employs creative smoke usage, aggressive pushes, timing plays, and utility combinations to break stalemates. 104 150
  • Introduced map-specific movement and positioning ideas, including triple-jump applications on Ancient Ruins. 140 255
