Chapter 59: A Few Words Before Going Premium!
The annual moment when the book goes premium has rolled around again!
The new-book period actually flies by pretty quickly. All told, it's only 30 days from starting a book to going premium.
Things didn't go very smoothly when I started this one. It was supposed to come out in July, but in the end, it got delayed until September.
Some of you may know that in between, I even started a proper Old Timer story about Jiang Yang. But quite a few people thought it was too similar to my other work, so I ended up revising it.
When I started another CSGO novel, I'd already given it a lot of thought.
This might sound a little boastful, but after writing CSGO novels on Qidian for the past few years, Goblin Coffee has now reached the top of this category in terms of results. I also know where its ceiling is.
So I'd actually considered switching to a different genre.
A different subject might have a higher ceiling, but there's no reason for me to stop loving CSGO!
Watching NIKO persevere on the CSGO stage for ten years, the Old Timer helmet-wearers shouting and cheering after defeating RA, the ups and downs of VG's young players on the stage, and device struggling after his decline...
All of that made me put the idea of switching genres aside for now, and inspiration came pouring into my head.
At the time, I wondered: what kind of story would it be if there were a genius kid with the heavens themselves feeding him opportunities?
And then creating the story became simple for Goblin Coffee: add a little sunshine and good looks, a little family drama, a little absurdity, and a touch of extraordinary talent.
