Snape Adds Drama
After dinner, around eight o'clock.
There was a Secluded Corridor between the cellar and the first floor, which was usually deserted. There were only a few torches, and the light was dim and could not reach the end.
In the middle of the Corridor, there is an inconspicuous wooden door with most of the paint peeling off the door panel and the door handle covered in rust.
Inside was an abandoned storage room, filled with clutter.
Rababstan stood in the storage room, not leaning against the wall, afraid of getting his robes dusty.
He wore a dark robe, and his hair was combed back and slicked back, without a single stray hair on his forehead.
He felt that his arrangement today was simply ingenious.
If they act the day before the holiday, even if something goes wrong, who will have time to investigate, whether it's the professor or Black?
Snape went to arrest someone.
Before leaving, I wanted to leave him the bottle of Veritaserum, meaning, "Keep it for now, it shows your loyalty."
Rababstan refused, very decisively; he wouldn't even touch that bottle.
He realized Snape wanted him involved, to leave evidence that he had touched it.
Clumsy.
Snape had to handle it himself, force himself to drink it, and take responsibility for any problems that arose.
As for the cleanup, it's Snape's job to finish it off. If he handles it well, the matter will be considered resolved satisfactorily.
If it's not handled well, that's Snape's problem, not his.
He mentally went over the questions he was going to ask later.
First, ask Black if he really sheltered the two Half-bloods; then ask what tasks Black assigned them; and finally, ask what the relationship between Black and them really was.
Once you've asked those three questions, that should be enough.
Rababstan smoothed out the wrinkles in his robe, flicked dust off his cuffs, and glanced towards the door.
Before long, the door was pushed open and Snape walked in.
A figure floated behind her: Lina Costa.
She was unconscious, her head tilted to one side, her hair disheveled, with a few strands stuck to the corner of her mouth.
The person was suspended in mid-air, like a piece of cargo being moved, with limbs hanging down, completely still.
The storage room door closed behind me, the hinges making a jarring creak.
Rababstan lowered his voice, trying to make it sound deeper, "Has anyone seen it?"
Snape lowered his head slightly. "No."
Rababstan raised his chin, Snape tossed Lina into a pile of junk against the wall.
The movement wasn't particularly forceful, but it wasn't gentle either.
Rababstan walked over, squatted down, pinched Lina's chin, turned her face to make sure she was really unconscious.
Then he let go, stood up, and took two steps back.
"Where's the medicine?"
Snape took a small glass bottle from the inside pocket of his robe, which contained a pale blue liquid.
He crouched down next to Lina, pinched her chin with one hand to lift her head, and was about to unscrew the bottle cap with the other.
Just then, the door was kicked open from the outside.
The door slammed against the wall with a loud bang, shaking the entire door and causing a layer of dust to fall from the wall, which then drifted away in the dim light.
Rababstan turned around abruptly, his face instantly turning ugly, as if he had discovered that his sister-in-law and brother had fallen in love.
Hermes stood in the doorway, dressed in a black robe, his hair slightly disheveled, his face expressionless.
His wand was already raised, its tip pointing steadily inward.
Samuel stood behind him, his shoulders slightly hunched, his expression flustered and anxious.
Hermes glanced at it.
Snape crouched down next to Lina, holding Potions in his hand; Lina was lying in a pile of junk.
Rababstan stood inside, frozen, his hand already reaching for his wand in his pocket, but he hadn't yet managed to pull it out.
Hermes was much faster, but he was attacking Snape: "Depulso!"
A beam of purple light shot from the tip of the staff. Snape had no time to dodge and was sent flying, his back slamming against the wall with a muffled groan before he slid to the ground. The Potions slipped from his hand, tumbled a few times in the air, and crashed to the ground without breaking, rolling to the corner of the wall.
Before Hermes ' wand could even turn around, Rababstan took off running.
He rushed out the door and ran into the depths of the Corridor, his robe billowing in the wind, his footsteps pounding on the stone floor with a hurried and heavy sound.
Footsteps sounded behind him. Rababstan didn't dare to turn around. He finally drew his wand with his right hand and flicked two spells behind him.
Stupefy, dazed, Impedimenta.
The spell shot out from the tip of the staff, struck the wall of the Corridor, and shattered into fragments of light.
Hermes was still in pursuit.
But there was a commotion coming from the storage room, and someone was shouting something, but Rababstan couldn't hear it.
Hermes cursed loudly from behind, and Rababstan heard it, but he didn't care and just ran.
Then the footsteps behind him stopped, Hermes did not pursue them further.
Rababstan didn't stop. He turned the corner of the Corridor, then another turn, and kept running until he thought he had escaped. Only then did he stop, supporting himself on his knees, panting heavily. His forehead was covered in sweat, and his hair lay flat against his forehead, the shine long gone.
He put the wand back in his pocket, leaned against the wall, and closed his eyes to catch his breath for a while.
In the storage room, Lina sat up from the pile of clutter, rubbing her arms.
She frowned, stretched her shoulders, glanced down at the dust on her robe, and patted it off with her hand.
She said sharply, "You threw it way too hard."
Snape got up from the ground and ignored her.
His gaze was somber as he looked at Hermes.
It was hard to tell whether there was anger or something else in his eyes.
He only threw Lina once; something caught her behind him. Mulciber struck him with a spell, so powerfully, that she was sent flying and crashed into a wall. Hermes didn't even look at him.
Samuel came out of the door and helped Lina up from the ground. "Are you alright?"
"It's nothing," Lina shook her head, seemingly in high spirits. She turned to Hermes: "How are you?"
Hermes nodded.
Snape and Hermes were not acquainted.
All he knew was that this second-year student, Mulciber, was very gloomy, didn't like to talk, and was skilled in Dark Arts.
Today was our first formal meeting, but the impression was very bad.
Lina glanced at Hermes, then at Snape, and for some reason, suddenly felt like laughing.
The two men, one gloomy and the other somber, one pale and the other sallow, stood together and looked like a couple.
But she held back and didn't laugh.
It's fine to laugh at Snape; they're both Half-bloods, both on Black's side, and their statuses are roughly the same.
Mulciber won't do; that's the core.
Not at least not now.
Snape bent down, picked up the Potions from the corner, unscrewed the cap, brought the bottle to his lips, tilted his head back, and drank it down in one gulp.
Lina paused for a moment, Samuel paused for a moment, Hermes glanced at her again.
Snape put the empty bottle into his pocket.
"This will allow me to stay in the Hospital Wing," he took a deep breath, making his tone flat. "Tomorrow will be better."
His complexion began to change, turning pale instantly, the color fading from his cheekbones outwards, and the blood in his lips also drained, leaving only a grayish-white layer. Then his lips began to dry out, as if something was absorbing moisture from the inside out.
The skin on his lips was peeling, the edges were yellow, and there were several cracks from which blood was seeping out.
He licked his lips, then looked down at the ground, as if explaining, or perhaps talking to himself. "If anyone from Lestrange comes asking, just say there was a problem with the experimental Potions."
Lina and Samuel exchanged a glance.
Alex didn't include this scene; Snape was just adding his own.
But doing so would cause Snape the least trouble.
Rababstan won't come to ask on its own, but it will definitely send someone.
Snape said it was caused by Potions experiments, and Madam Pomfrey would say the same.
What would Rababstan think upon hearing this answer?
Snape was clearly hit by a spell, but he said it was caused by Potions.
Rababstan wouldn't think Snape was lying; he would think Snape was taking responsibility.
He ran away, and Snape, who was left behind, must have suffered terribly, but he didn't say anything even after being beaten, instead making up a reason for a Potions experiment.
What does this tell us?
This shows that Snape is tight-lipped, that he can withstand Snape, and that Snape is usable.
In Rababstan, not only will they not pursue the matter, they will actually think that this Half-bloods is actually quite alright.
Snape's forehead began to sweat, beads of sweat seeping from his hairline, forming a fine, dense layer. Before they could even trickle down, it was as if something was drawing them back from under his skin.
The beads of sweat condensed and shrank, eventually turning into an oily film that clung to the skin, as if something were twisting the person from the inside out. Hermes looked at him and nodded.
Snape turned and walked out, his steps unsteady, leaning against the wall as he slowly made his way to the other end of the Corridor.
The back view is a bit pitiful.
Hermes glanced at it and then looked away, turning to Lina and Samuel.
"It's all done."
He left too.
Lina and Samuel followed.
The three walked out of the storeroom, with Hermes leading the way, taking large strides and walking quickly.
Lina followed two steps behind him, with Samuel bringing up the rear. The Corridor was quiet, save for the sound of their own footsteps.
The three men walked past Snape without saying a word or even glancing at him.
Snape was left behind, and he continued to move forward, holding onto the wall.
Hermes suddenly stopped at the corner of the Corridor ahead.
He tilted his head slightly, then turned around, took two quick steps to Snape, ignoring the look in Snape's eyes.
Hermes took another step, circled behind Snape, then lifted his foot and pounced on him.
Snape fell forward, landing face-first on the stone floor with a thud.
He groaned and tried to get up, but he couldn't.
He turned and glared at Hermes, his eyes filled with malice, his face contorted with rage, and he opened his mouth to curse.
Hermes ignored him and slipped into another Corridor.
Lina and Samuel reacted quickly, following them into the corner. The three disappeared around the bend, their footsteps fading into the distance.
Snape lay on the ground, panting heavily, struggling to get up.
A thought flashed through my mind: This guy is fucking insane.
Then a second thought popped into his head: Was Black going to use him and then discard him?
His heart sank.
If that's the case, then you've definitely taken the Potions.
Then he heard footsteps, paused for a moment, and suddenly stopped all the jumbled thoughts in his mind.
His head tilted to the side, and he lay there.
Hermes pushed open the door and entered the Dormitory.
Regulus was talking to Baruk.
"It's over," Hermes said. "Rababstan has run away."
He didn't say anything else.
Regulus turned around, nodded, and said nothing.
He didn't go to see it, nor did he show up, let alone catch them in the act, because there was no need.
Once Rababstan took action, the matter was settled.
The young wizard might think that as long as he doesn't admit it, everything will be fine, and that he can get away with it as long as he's not caught red-handed.
But in this matter, denying it is pointless.
Rababstan has escaped, but his name is now inextricably linked to this incident, and the Lestrange family won't let his denials erase it from history. The Black family doesn't need evidence; they just need to know that it happened.
Regulus didn't need witnesses or physical evidence, he didn't need to complain to the professor, and he certainly didn't need Rababstan to confess.
All he wanted was for this to happen; Rababstan made his move, that's all.
