Finally, It Was Coming
Early the next morning, Regulus was having breakfast.
The bacon is fried until the edges are crispy, the yolk of the omelette oozes when you poke it with a fork, the toast is toasted until golden brown on both sides, and it is served with a cup of coffee mixed with milk.
Nothing new, just a habit.
Baruk was also having breakfast, lying next to the table, holding a piece of Swedish Short-Snout's neck meat with his front legs.
The chelicerae tore through the dark purple flesh fibers, and blood flowed down the mouthparts, accumulating a small puddle on the floor.
He eats very attentively. Occasionally if a shred of meat falls to the ground, he will pick it up with his front legs and stuff it back into his mouth.
Felix knocked on the door twice, opened the door and walked in, walking to the dining table.
The expression on his face was a little serious, with a shallow line between his eyebrows, but his tone was calm. "Master, an old friend of Bordeaux contacted me today."
Regulus put the fork on the edge of the plate, wiped the corners of his mouth with a napkin, nodded, and signaled him.
Felix has been working in security for nearly twenty years. From Marseille to Lyon to Bordeaux, Black family's protection systems in several estates have passed through his hands.
The network of contacts accumulated over the past twenty years cannot be said to be dense, but it covers a wide range.
He does not hold any power, does not do business, and is not a player in gray transactions, but the position of Black family security director is a coordinate in the gray circle.
All parties knew who he was working for and that he was not involved in any business.
Smugglers, Black Market dealers, and underground Potions divisions all circulate information very quickly. Some information does not require him to take the initiative to handle it, and someone will naturally reveal it to him.
Felix spoke a little faster and spoke concisely, "Victor Delacroix, Southern France is the largest Magical Creatures smuggler. He has been in business for more than 20 years, but French Ministry of Magic has always been unable to do anything to him.
This person has dirty tricks but is steady in his work. His core team has been with him for many years. Everyone has a job, is capable of fighting, is obedient, and has high execution ability."
Regulus listened and raised his eyebrows.
Felix continued, "His combat ability is not top-notch, but he is not weak either. He is good at defensive spells and traps Magic. He likes to arrange things on the battlefield in advance before taking action.
He has made changes recently. The core staff are concentrating in the direction of Provence. At the same time, he is recruiting people from the periphery. The shots are very broad and he is looking for Dark Wizard who dare to take action.
The direction is most likely here. It's hard to say how long it will take, but it won't be too long."
Regulus asked, "How many people?"
"There are about ten to fifteen people in the core team, and there may be a dozen more recruited from the outside, totaling more than thirty people."
"Delacroix himself will come?"
Felix thought for a while, "Not sure, he is used to sitting in the rear and directing operations, but if the benefits are great enough, he will be there in person."
Regulus held the coffee cup and took a sip.
Thirty or so people, no matter where they are, it's not a small move. The core ones can fight, but they won't be top-notch. Real top-level combatants will not make a living under the hands of a smuggler.
Most of the people on the periphery are cannon fodder, they are here for Galleon and have zero loyalty.
Delacroix sounds like a shrewd person, so the cannon fodder must come first. The core team will see the situation clearly before moving. If it encounters strong resistance, it will most likely withdraw.
It doesn't matter if the smugglers come to the manor for Magical Creatures or for something else.
If a person who has been involved in smuggling for twenty years dares to step on Black family's territory, there must be a push behind him.
And he didn't come early or late, but he just came when he was there. The timing was so coincidental that there was no need to guess.
So no matter what the person's background is, it doesn't make any difference. Anyone who comes for him will be treated as Death Eaters.
But this doesn't mean that he has to get in when the other party tries to trick him.
The opponent wants to force him to take action, wants to see how he fights, and wants to see something from the way he strikes. He is indeed ready to receive the attack, but he will not accept it in the way the opponent presets.
The condom is already there, he can go around it, he can remove the condom first and then walk over, or he can stand next to the condom for a while and look at the scenery. The initiative must be in his hands.
If the other party thinks that he will confront him head-on, then he will not confront him head-on.
He had been waiting for half a month for this day, but he was quite sensible. He had just finished Resonance Disk on this side, and he just moved on the other side. The time was just right.
Worth the wait.
"Keep an eye on it for now. When the time comes, I'll go out and you can guard the inside."
Felix frowned and did not respond immediately.
He had played this young master, and although it was fake, the master had given him enough information during the preparation process.
The thirteen-year-old child in front of him was more dangerous than most adult wizards he had seen in his life.
But out of professionalism, he still said, "I will go out with the young master."
Regulus shook his head. "There are more than 20 people in the manor. Dupont and the employees are all ordinary wizards. If they can't stop things, you can guard them inside."
Felix was silent for a moment, and then said, "The master has arranged a reserve force at France, Marseille stronghold. I have the authority to activate it and can transfer it at any time."
Regulus twitched the corner of his mouth.
His father never told him this, but think about it, he knows his abilities, Space Magic, Fiendfyre. With these two alone, he has no advantage in numbers.
His father also knew what he was doing here, so the backup force was not here to help him fight, but was just there to look after the property.
He suddenly thought of a problem. He had only seen Gerald Hawke, the former Auror responsible for the family's peripheral affairs and newcomer training, but never the others.
The person who can be sent to France by his father will at least be no worse than Hawk. We can see him after everything is over.
"Look at the arrangements," Regulus said in a relaxed tone, with the corners of his mouth slightly curved, and then added, "If there is a move here, there is a movement, you go notify France Auror and give me some time to move around."
Felix's expression changed slightly.
He knew that the purpose of the young master's visit to France was not simple. The master did not say it clearly, but he did explain that the young master might encounter some trouble here and his cooperation was needed.
What he thought was cooperation was to help the young master block the people outside, or to guard the rear when the young master faced the enemy head-on.
But finding France Auror was not among his default plans.
He looked at the thirteen-year-old young master in front of him. The young master was smiling, as if he just thought it was fun.
Felix calmed down his expression, nodded, and said nothing else.
I have already made up my mind, don't wait to take action, contact Orion first, the master has to know, wait for the young master to take action, then notify France Auror.
Felix turned around and left the living room, walked back to his room, and took out a copper disc from the drawer. It was about the same size as Galleon, with Black family and Twin Star Sirius Crest engraved on the surface.
He tapped it twice with his wand, and a circle of silver-blue light lit up around the edge of the disc, then dimmed.
The signal has been sent.
A moment later, six crisp sounds rang out in the air at the door of the manor's main house, with an interval of less than a second.
Six people, half male and half, ranging in age from early thirties to fifty, were wearing inconspicuous dark traveling robes with no uniform style.
Felix exchanged a few words with them under the porch of the main house. Soon there were six more crisp sounds and they dispersed.
Outside the door of the main house, there was a man standing under the old olive tree on the gravel road, leaning against the trunk of the tree, looking towards the direction of the manor gate.
One person also fell in the shadow of the stone wall in the backyard, his figure hidden in the darkness, and the wand was already in his hand.
There is a figure on the edge of the western slope Baruk's Spider-Web Radiation Zone, standing between the pergola, looking at the spider-pulled irrigation system in front of him.
There are one on the east and one on the west near the ridgeline, with views covering the north and south slopes. There is also an movable sentry, with a hidden figure wandering around the manor.
Felix entered the main room to find Dupont: "There may be something going on later, activate the safety plan and be more vigilant."
Dupont's brows knitted together. "What's going on?"
Felix briefly explained, "Someone is planning a manor."
Dupont looked past Felix, glanced in the direction of the living room, and pulled down the corner of his mouth: "Young Master--"
Felix stopped him with his eyes for the second half of his words.
Dupont Shut up.
He has been in this manor longer than Felix, and has managed the vineyards for several generations of Black family.
It was fine before, but as soon as the young man who raised a big spider came, the safety plan was suddenly activated. It was obvious who was coming.
He was silent for a while, nodded to Felix, turned around and walked towards the workshop.
Employees must be notified that outside operations are suspended, irrigation canals are closed, and the manor is put into a defensive state. Everyone should return to the main house and do not be alone outside.
This process Black family is updated once a year, and Dupont is practiced once a year. It has never really been started, but it was started today.
Regulus stood up from the dining table, Baruk had finished eating Dragon Meat, and was lying on the floor using one front leg to clean the remaining bloodshot streaks on the chelicerae.
Seeing Regulus stand up, it also stood up and looked at him with its eight amber eyes.
He flicked his finger, and an orange-red fireball shot out from his fingertips. It was as big as a fist, trailing a short tail flame, and hung in the air.
Baruk stepped forward with his long legs and faced the fireball.
The fireball fell, hit its head, and burst into flames. Orange-red flames enveloped the whole body, burning from the chelicerae to the spinner, from the carapace to the leg joints.
Baruk turned over comfortably in the fire, kicking his eight legs in the air, belly up, letting the flames roast him, then turned back and roasted all the hair on his body.
The chelicerae opened and closed very quickly, and it sounded very happy.
In a second, the flame goes out.
Baruk shook its bristles, shook the spider's head, clacked twice at Regulus, pushed itself up on its eight legs, turned around in the air, ejected directly after landing, and rushed out from the window sill.
Regulus walked to the window, watching its dark red figure running away in the morning light, and raised the corner of his mouth slightly.
Bring it with you during a fight, put it on your shoulder in a small size, and don't point at it to provide help. There are thirty or so people on the opposite side, so there is no point in letting a spider take the spell.
But it will be indispensable in future battles, so let it get used to the scene.
