Arc 9Anchors and Ambitions
Regulus expanded his Space Magic, investigated the nature of the self, and intervened in a first-year dueling contest while advancing his experiments. The arc left him refining a Fiendfyre-powered flying device as Dumbledore and McGonagall discussed the danger of his work.
- Sirius connected Remus Lupin’s full-moon absences and illness to the Werewolf signs taught by Professor Ezra Vance, but resolved with James to stand by Remus.
- Regulus trained Avery, Alex, and Hermes, then linked twelve Spatial Anchors into a network that could route and delay spells before collapsing after about thirty seconds.
- Regulus followed James, Sirius, and Peter to the Whomping Willow, where Dumbledore led him to the Shrieking Shack to witness Lupin transform and later explained the limits of Legilimency against a werewolf’s instincts.
- Regulus meditated until he could perceive his soul, then placed Saiph in his Spiritual World’s star model, improving his Star Orbit’s stability without yet drawing out the star’s imagery.
- During the Slytherin first-year duels, Regulus noticed Dolphin Rowle’s scheme against Geoffrey Selwyn and prompted Snape to expose Geoffrey’s ability-boosting potion, after which Regulus taught Rosalie Selwyn the Shield Charm.
- Regulus considered Saiph’s progress, improved his Spatial Network to send six Disarming Charms through separate paths at once, and received thirty house points from Slughorn for his actions.
- Regulus asked Orion to obtain a mature Whomping Willow, while students argued over a Ministry decision on House-elf liberation and Orion sent Regulus the date and location of Andromeda’s wedding.
- Regulus experimented with a Fiendfyre-powered flying device, reached near-supersonic speed, and landed exhausted, and Dumbledore and McGonagall then discussed whether Regulus’s talent and dangerous experiment could be controlled.
