Shen Nuo Fei sat in her chair, muttering to herself, "Twelve minus twenty-seven plus three x equals five x minus twenty minus forty-nine plus seven x."

Teacher Liu watched quietly, betraying no emotion.

Shen Nuo Fei continued, "Twelve plus twenty plus forty-nine minus twenty-seven equals seven x plus five x minus three x."

Teacher Liu snapped the chalk in his hand in two.

Shen Nuo Fei was completely absorbed in solving the equation. "Nine x equals fifty-four, so x equals six."

Teacher Liu crushed the chalk stub in his hand into powder. His heart ached faintly. He was so damn excited!

Sitting at her desk, Shen Nuo Fei had worked out in her head that x equaled six.

Teacher Liu threw his head back and laughed. "Ha ha ha! Like father, like daughter!"

Shen Nuo Fei looked puzzled. "Teacher Liu, do you know my dad?"

Teacher Liu pinched Shen Nuo Fei's cheek. "Who in this world doesn't know your dad? Shen Nuo Fei, solving a one-variable linear equation in your head is nothing special. It's just a basic skill. I could do it when I was your age, too. Next, we'll move on to systems of multivariable higher-degree equations."

Shen Nuo Fei covered her face. "Teacher Liu, don't pinch my cheeks! It's not nice if they get bigger."

Teacher Liu said, "Your cheeks are already pretty big."

"Hmph! I'm mad. I'm not studying anymore. I'm leaving. Bye!" Shen Nuo Fei stood up angrily. My math can be bad, but I absolutely have to be pretty.

"Ooh, look at that temper! I was just joking. Your cheeks are the smallest and prettiest. I've never seen a girl as cute and beautiful as Shen Nuo Fei. Sit down, sit properly. Now, let's start learning systems of two-variable equations..."
