As Pang Baili's second son, Pang Qianhu possesses a substantial faction within the Cao Gang and competes directly with his elder brother Pang Qianlong for succession. His supporters outnumber Pang Qianlong's within the headquarters, giving him enough influence to rally Elders, Hall Masters, and other upper-ranking members behind him. 126 165 167

His late mother's trusted confidant becomes Pang Qianhu's most secretive operative after her death, handling covert killings and other matters unsuitable for public exposure. This man, later identified as Youying, murdered Chief Alchemist Fu Hao on Pang Qianhu's behalf. 132

Personality

Pang Qianhu is arrogant, vindictive, and accustomed to treating his position as protection from consequences. When Pang Qianlong investigates Fu Hao's death, Pang Qianhu dismisses the threat, reasoning that even proof would result only in a reprimand or brief confinement. 129

His ambition is paired with cruelty rather than restraint. In pursuit of greater strength and an advantage in the succession struggle, he considers commissioning the Yin Yang Pill despite its requirement for the heart's blood of numerous infants. He recognizes the difficulty of concealing such disappearances, but not the moral cost. 112 113

He repeatedly underestimates people he considers beneath him—particularly Lu Yuan, whom he regards as an inexperienced, politically insignificant alchemist. This contempt leaves him unprepared for Lu Yuan's retaliation and later for “Yuan Lu” at the mine. 126 127 130 143

Fu Hao's Death and the Yin Yang Pill

Pang Qianhu openly threatens Fu Hao during a dispute in the Pill Workshop. After Fu Hao's death is publicly ruled an accidental qi deviation, Pang Qianhu's later statements and Youying's role confirm that he was responsible. 108 110 129 132

Seeking power for the succession struggle, he investigates whether Lu Yuan can refine the forbidden Yin Yang Pill. The pill requires the heart's blood of infants, forcing even Wei Chuang to confront the consequences of serving him. 112 113

Conflict with Lu Yuan

After Pang Qianlong commissions Lu Yuan to refine an Earth Origin Pill, Pang Qianhu ambushes Lu Yuan and demands to know what was being refined. Lu Yuan reveals the pill's name, and Pang Qianhu dismisses him as a frightened subordinate. 126 127

Lu Yuan subsequently attacks Pang Qianhu in his own mansion. Pang Qianhu survives by sacrificing his arm to deflect the killing strike, retreating behind his armor and guards, but suffers severe injuries. 129 130

In retaliation, he launches a citywide hunt and sends Youying and a Half-Demonic Creature after Lu Yuan. Both pursuers are ultimately killed or neutralized during the pursuit. 132 133 135

Mine Confrontation

Still unaware that “Yuan Lu” is Lu Yuan in disguise, Pang Qianhu leads over thirty men to interfere with Pang Qianlong's search for a Taisui Stone. When he attempts to assert control, Yuan Lu kills six of his men and places a blade at Pang Qianhu's throat. 141 143

The Law Enforcement Hall intervenes before Yuan Lu kills him. Pang Qianhu is forced to retreat publicly humiliated, and his fear and hatred of Yuan Lu deepen. 144 145

Bid for Control of the Cao Gang

After Pang Baili's disappearance, Pang Qianhu gathers senior Cao Gang figures and attempts to force entry into his father's secluded cultivation courtyard, accusing Pang Qianlong of concealing sinister intentions. 167 168

The man who emerges is actually Lu Yuan impersonating Pang Baili. Believing him to be his father, Pang Qianhu pleads innocence and is warned that only what Pang Baili grants him is his to possess. 167 169
