Background / History

Shrek Academy was a long-standing institution revered as the continent’s foremost Soul Master academy. It was the only academy known to have produced deities, including the First Generation Shrek Seven Monsters, and its legacy of divine connections formed a central part of its prestige. Its Sea God heritage allowed it to survive the Sun Moon Empire’s continental unification ten thousand years earlier, while the former Sun Moon Emperor himself later attended classes in Shrek uniform. 42 132 285

Ten thousand years before the novel’s present, Shrek fought as part of the Douluo Three Kingdoms against the Sun Moon Empire. After its defeat on the main battlefield, it withdrew rather than continue supporting the kingdoms; this decision later became a major point of criticism against the academy. 100 279

Shrek also developed deep historical ties with Star Luo. It aided Star Luo’s royal lineage in establishing itself overseas, and Shrek’s ancestors subsequently founded a Tang Sect branch there. The branch became a continuing channel between Shrek and Star Luo, with the Tang Sect at one point holding a status comparable to a state religion on the continent. 206 270

Sea God Pavilion was Shrek Academy’s supreme governing body and spiritual center. It stood on Sea God Island, integrated with the Golden Ancient Tree, and served as a symbol for both the academy and Shrek City. 132

During one documented final examination, students had fifteen days to travel through at least ten cities and defeat an opponent at least five cultivation levels above themselves in each city. Students left without storage tools, identification, money, or communication devices, while teachers secretly evaluated them. 96 100

Major Arcs

Tianhai Alliance Grand Competition

Shrek entered the Tianhai Alliance Grand Competition with a strengthened youth team, including Yu Longheng, Ye Xinglan, Xu Lizhi, Ning Yue, and other students. Yu Longheng, a four-ring Soul Ancestor with five pieces of one-word Battle Armor, led the team in an exhibition match. 124

The Shrek team defeated the previous Tianhai Alliance youth champions—whose lineup included a Soul King—in less than a minute. The overwhelming victory was intended to showcase Shrek’s new generation to the continent. 123 124

Following the exhibition, Ye Xinglan demanded that Huo Yuhao’s Eastsea Academy team apologize for allegedly insulting Shrek’s reputation. The confrontation escalated into a seven-versus-seven challenge. 125 126

Shrek was then decisively defeated by Eastsea Academy. Huo Yuhao knocked out Yu Longheng with one punch before incapacitating the remaining Shrek team with a Mental Skill, shattering the team’s confidence and causing public uproar. 128

Exchange Competition and Ice and Fire Opportunity

Shrek later supported its students in an exchange competition against the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy. Lan Muzi and Tang Yinmeng were dispatched to protect and support the younger team on hostile territory. 182 184

The academy offered Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well entry rights to the top three performers in the competition. Ye Xinglan, Xu Lizhi, Yue Zhengyu, Long Chen, and others were considered candidates, with some also eligible for direct Inner Court entry. 182

Federation Investigation and Sanctions

The Federation’s relationship with Shrek deteriorated over suspicions that the academy had supported Star Luo, transferred technology, traded Soul Spirits, and concealed or enabled the theft of the strategic weapon Eternal Heaven. 245 275 276

The Federation imposed a blockade on Shrek City, froze Shrek-related assets and research projects, and suspended Shrek graduates from Federation and municipal posts pending investigation. 275

Shrek teachers and students returning from Star Luo were separated for questioning, while figures such as Sentimental Douluo were temporarily detained to prevent them from returning to Shrek and complicating the investigation. 278

Fall of Shrek Academy

After the Federation’s ultimatum expired, Shrek refused to give a clear signal of surrender. The Federation ordered its forces to eradicate the academy, citing conclusive evidence of collusion with foreign enemies and threats to Federation security. 286 287

During the battle, Yun Ming temporarily reached True God-tier power but was defeated by Di Tian. 290 295 296

Da Ming and Er Ming opened a Planar Passage to remove Shrek teachers and students who chose to leave, allowing a portion of the academy’s personnel to escape. 291 292

Sea God Pavilion collapsed amid the fighting. Yu Guanzhi formally declared Shrek Academy abolished and struck from the continent’s history. 301
