Lin Xiaogu spent fifteen years as a destitute boy in Black Stone City's Stinky Mud Alley, enduring hunger, beatings, and humiliation while longing for the power of insect cultivators. After a severe beating left him near death, Li Yuan's divine sense fused with his soul fragments and reconstructed his body through Life Origin Quality and the power of life-and-death balance. The resulting being retained Lin Xiaogu's memories and emotions while inheriting Li Yuan's will, cultivation knowledge, and goal of refining all things through himself. 252

Awakening with the Chaos Return to Void Dao and the Seed of Crimson Sun, Lin Xiaogu reclaimed bread stolen by the beggars who had attacked him, injured two of them, and fled toward the abandoned Insect Pit to cultivate in safety.
