History
Fate Severing Tower
Before Li Yuan's split soul entered him, Jue Ming was a dying Fate-less prisoner in the deepest cell of the Fate Severing Tower. His body was emaciated, his Fate Star Map had shattered into fragments, and the tower planned to refine his corpse into Fate Shattering Pills after his death. 424
Li Yuan's split soul and Jue Ming's remnant soul fused completely, transforming the remains of Jue Ming's shattered Fate into a Void Vortex. He immediately used it to consume the Fates of two guards and an elder, destroying their cultivation and escaping his cell. 424
He climbed the tower by devouring its guardians' Fates, including Si Xing's Torture Fate, the Twins' Mist Fate, and the old prisoner's Self-Regret Fate. Consuming the latter freed the old man from a lifelong curse of regret. 425
On the third level, Jue Ming consumed the True Man of Fate Severing's Fate threads, nine Fate Swords, and Fate Severing Star Chart, reducing the tower master to a mortal. He exited as the Fate Severing Tower collapsed behind him. 426
Conflict with the Fate Value Hall and Heavenly Mandate Sect
Jue Ming accepted an invitation to the Fate Value Hall's Qingshi Branch after its stewards identified his absence of Fate as a possible Void Fate. When Helmsman Zhou and three Fate Modification Realm subordinates attempted to seize him, Jue Ming consumed their Fates and treated them as a meal. 427 428
The Heavenly Mandate Sect began hunting him as a Fate-less One carrying the forbidden Void Fate. Jue Ming defeated their pursuing cultivators, devoured portions of their Fates, and acquired resistances to restraints, sword qi, illusions, poison, and tracking Marks. 429 430
He then advanced openly on the sect's Fate Mountain Range. He consumed the Fates of outer and inner disciples, broke the Heavenly Mandate Cage, bypassed Fate Spirit Attachments and Fate Shadow Guards, defeated hundreds of disciples, and overcame several Fate Master Realm experts. 430 431 432 433 434
At the inner palace, Jue Ming used Chaos Stars to interfere with Star Power frequencies, dismantling eighteen Star Essence Gold Puppets and harvesting their Fate Cores. 435
Search for Special Fates
In Ashstone Town, Jue Ming intervened when Heavenly Mandate Sect disciples harassed an old man selling a Guard Simplicity Mirror. He revealed the old man's hidden Guard Simplicity Fate, damaged Jian Wuchen's Sword Fate, and refined its remaining stars into a purer form. 436 437
He partially consumed Chu Yunhe's Tiger-Python Dual Fate, resolving the conflict between its two aspects while reducing Chu Yunhe's realm. Jue Ming then gave the old man a jade pendant that concealed his newly revealed Fate. 437
Bai Wei led him to Falling Star Valley, where unusual Fate holders gathered. There, Jue Ming obtained a fragment of the Forbidden Technique of Fate Grafting and accepted the shapeshifting being later called Thousand Faces as a follower. 438 439
After devouring Seven-Day Old Man's Annihilation Rebirth Fate, Jue Ming learned that the Heavenly Mandate Sect intended to use the Myriad Fates Return to One Grand Formation to extract regional Fates and forge Heavenly Dao Fate Fragments. 439 440
Collapse of the Old Fate Order
Jue Ming destroyed Fate Puppets created as experimental components of the sect's Fate Array and copied their array model into his cognition. He then marched on Heavenly Mandate Mountain to seize the forming Heavenly Dao Fate Fragment. 441
He defeated Ming Tianzi, devoured his River of Destiny Fate, shattered the sect's defenses, and used the Return to Void Seal to erase the Nine Fate Heavenly Dragon Array within a thousand-zhang radius. 442 443
At the summit, Jue Ming withstood the Heavenly Mandate Sect Master's Heavenly Dao manifestation. He deduced its structure, evolved Pseudo Heavenly Dao Authority, and absorbed the Heavenly Dao Fragment. 444
The absorption formed his Chaos Dao Seed and damaged the Fate World's old foundation. Jue Ming chose to replace it with a new Order in which Fate would no longer be determined solely by birth. 445
He later broke Heavenly Capital City's protection array by cancelling its definition, seized and absorbed the Myriad Phenomena Fate Disc, forced the city's nine ancestors to surrender, and imparted the Chaos Fate Cultivation Method to its inhabitants. 446
Appearance
Jue Ming initially appeared as a severely malnourished prisoner whose bones showed through his skin, with barely any strength remaining and shattered Fate fragments above his head. After awakening, his most conspicuous feature became his Chaos-colored eyes, which replaced his former empty darkness. 424
- Usually wears simple black clothing after leaving the tower. 436
- Has no visible Fate Star Map; observers instead perceive a disturbing emptiness above him. 427 436
- His body can develop dark gray or gray-black Chaos patterns when resisting attacks or manifesting power. 437 438
- His skin possesses exceptional durability and can rapidly heal wounds sustained in combat. 432 438
Personality
Jue Ming is calm, terse, and almost impossible to provoke. He treats threats, formations, and powerful Fate users with the same detached interest, judging most opponents by the usefulness of their Fates rather than their status or intentions. 426 428
His relationship with power is predatory. He repeatedly calls enemies “food,” pursues rarer and more complete Fates, and shows little concern for the damage his devouring causes to the established Fate system. 430 437 443
Despite this ruthlessness, he is not indiscriminately cruel. He freed the prisoner bound by Self-Regret Fate, protected the old man with Guard Simplicity Fate, refined Jian Wuchen's damaged Fate into a purer form, and spared Lin Xiao's squad after erasing their Fates. 425 436 437 440
Abilities & Skills
Fate Devouring
Jue Ming's Void Vortex strips Fate Star Maps, Fate Origins, Fate energy, and Fate-based techniques from targets before refining them into nourishment.
- Can destroy or severely damage a target's cultivation by shattering or extracting their Fate. 424 428
- Can consume attacks based on Fate, including Fate Swords, Fate pressure, Fate chains, poison miasma, and Five Elements energy. 426 428 433
- Can obtain temporary or permanent traits from devoured Fates, such as Emotion Resistance Enhancement, Illusion Immunity, Mark Immunity, and Five Elements Control. 425 428 430 433
- Requires time to digest especially powerful Fate Origins, such as the Fate Master Realm power consumed from the Fate Severing Tower's master. 427
Fate Analysis and Manipulation
Beyond devouring Fate, Jue Ming can perceive, refine, repair, suppress, and alter Fate structures.
- Identified the hidden Guard Simplicity Fate through the old man's mirror and recognized the middle-aged man in Falling Star Valley as a Living Fate Container. 436 438
- Refined Jian Wuchen's damaged Sword Fate, leaving fewer stars but purer sword intent. 436 437
- Resolved the internal conflict in Chu Yunhe's Tiger-Python Dual Fate while absorbing part of its origin. 437
- Can erase a person's Fate without killing them, allowing them to cultivate anew. 440
- Restored and elevated Bai Wei's Green Lotus Fate and removed Thousand Faces' limit of ninety-nine transformations. 445
Chaos Fate Seed and Adaptive Mutation
The Chaos Fate Seed assimilates newly devoured Fates into Jue Ming's body and soul, allowing him to reproduce or combine their characteristics.
- Simulates Fate traits, including generating Fire Fate-like flames from Chaos Aura. 440
- Integrates disparate attributes such as lightning, fire, wind, frost, sword intent, and Tiger-Python convergence into a compatible internal structure. 440
- Continuously analyzes and optimizes Fate Fragments absorbed from puppets and cultivators. 441
Chaos Domain
Jue Ming can manifest a gray-black domain that reduces surrounding Fate and Law to a primal Chaos state.
- Nullifies Fate pressure and weakens Fate-based attacks entering the domain. 428 437
- Turns terrain into Chaos mud that traps opponents while devouring their Fate power. 442
- Extinguished the Fate Star Maps of three hundred Heavenly Mandate Sect cultivators across a hundred-zhang radius. 442
- Its expansion corrodes Fate imprints embedded in locations such as Heavenly Mandate Mountain. 443
Chaos Stars and Star Perception
After devouring Zhou Tian Fate, Jue Ming gained a deeper command of Star Power and the underlying frequencies of stars.
- Fully ignited Chaos Stars that slow the attacks of Fate Master Realm opponents. 434
- Perceives Star frequencies and can alter their resonance. 435
- Redirected and neutralized the coordinated Star Power attacks of eighteen Star Essence Gold Puppets. 435
- Absorbs Star Puppet Cores to gain additional resistances. 435
Fate Sword and Heavenly Dao Authority
Jue Ming condensed the Myriad Swords Return to Origin Fate into a gray-black longsword that accumulates the core traits of the Fates it devours.
- The sword absorbed Ming Tianzi's River of Destiny Fate and gained the Law of Destiny. 442
- Can deprive targets of their future Fate trajectories, causing their lives to end instantly. 443
- Devoured Great Sun Burning Heaven Fate, adding a crimson-gold flame pattern to its blade. 443
- Uses Heavenly Dao Authority to impose outcomes, including defining an attack's result as inevitable. 442
Chaos Dao Seed
The completed Chaos Dao Seed grants Jue Ming preliminary control over the Fate World's Laws and Order.
- Replicated and absorbed the structure of the Heavenly Dao before devouring its fragment. 444
- Cancelled the definition of Heavenly Capital City's protection array, causing it to collapse without directly overpowering it. 446
- Froze the Red Robe Old Ancestor in time within a ten-zhang area. 446
- Formatted rather than devoured the ancestor's combat memories and cultivation knowledge, leaving his Fate and cultivation but removing his ability to use them. 446
- Established the Chaos Fate Cultivation Method as the basis of a replacement Fate Order. 446
