Background / History
Cloud-Dispelling Palm was originally Lu Feng's family martial art. The original owner of Lu Feng's body practiced it for six years but, due to poor talent and lack of dedication, remained at the introductory level. His father had reached Minor Accomplishment, where a palm strike could snap a bowl-thick sapling. 1
After transmigrating, Lu Feng discovered that every use of the technique added one point of proficiency through his Proficiency Panel. This allowed him to advance the art far beyond what its previous practitioners had achieved, with each major breakthrough also strengthening his Martial Realm. 1 4 5 28
At Transcendent level, Lu Feng entered a black-and-white Consciousness Space where a Black and White Figure used a more refined version of Cloud-Dispelling Palm to instruct him through combat. 75
Upon reaching the technique's 10,000-proficiency limit, Lu Feng learned that Transcendent techniques could continue developing by raising their grade rather than being replaced. Cloud-Dispelling Palm consequently advanced to High-Grade, Mid-Tier. 146 147
Abilities & Skills
Proficiency Panel Advancement
Every execution of Cloud-Dispelling Palm increases its recorded proficiency by one point.
- Major proficiency thresholds improve both the technique and Lu Feng's Martial Realm. 4 5 8 28 75
- Early cultivation was constrained by Internal Force: Lu Feng could initially use about twenty consecutive palms before resting. 3
- Greater cultivation and improved Internal Force later allowed him to perform one hundred consecutive uses. 25
- After reaching Transcendent, the technique could be improved further through grade advancement rather than replacement. 147
Force Amplification and External Projection
The palm art converts Internal Force into destructive palm force.
- At its Mastery Realm, it could release nearly three times the user's Internal Force; a First Form strike shattered an Iron Man Post built to endure ten thousand jin of force. 29
- At High-Grade, Mid-Tier, its output rose to approximately three-and-a-half times the user's attack power. 147
- Once Lu Feng became a Grandmaster, he could project palm force beyond close range. 51
- At Transcendent level, each form gained penetrating power capable of piercing an opponent's Internal Force in long-range exchanges. 75
Transcendent Characteristics
The Transcendent version was refined through sparring with the Black and White Figure in Lu Feng's Consciousness Space. 75
- Penetrating Power — Palm force can penetrate both physical defenses and Internal Force. 75
- Reduced Consumption — Uses half the previous Internal Force while retaining full power. 76
- Lingering Damage — Leaves a special force within struck opponents that continues damaging their bodies and hampers recovery. 76
- Limit against Innate opponents — Elder Long states that Innate Realm spiritual detection can perceive and neutralize the technique's hidden penetrating and grinding effects. 154
Documented Forms
- First Form: Flowing Water, Moving Clouds — A foundational strike that became powerful enough to shatter the Iron Man Post at Mastery Realm. 1 29
- Third Form: Cloud-Veiled Moon / Cloud and Rain — Uses feints, rapid movement, and difficult-to-discern real and false attacks; another rendering describes it as a barrage of fast palm strikes. 75 163
- Fourth Form: Mountain-Dispelling, Sea-Overturning / Mountain-Overturning, Sea-Crushing — A heavy, wave-like palm force used against Venerable Li's defensive martial art. 5 149
- Fifth Form: Dark Clouds Obscuring the Sun — Releases black energy that blots out the sun over the battlefield. 106
- Sixth Form: Heavy Clouds Deeply Locked — Creates an invisible locking pressure that restricts an opponent's movements and attacks. 34 164
- Seventh Form: Sky-Tearing Cloud Dispelling / Tear the Sky and Disperse the Clouds — The most forceful and fierce documented form; it focuses on breaking defenses through overwhelming power. 85 114 163
- Eighth Form: Cloud Sea Waves — Condenses numerous palm shadows into a wave of True Qi palm seals. 155
- Tenth Form: Calamitous Clouds Descend — Conceals targets with mist before delivering a massive descending palm strike from above. 128 164
- Twelfth Form: Gloomy Clouds — A seemingly plain palm infused with sorrowful force; it blackens the surroundings and shattered an Innate Realm opponent's True Qi shield and saber. 164
