Though the Black Emperor's cunning and the Blood Emperor's madness astonished Klein, he still had to maintain Mr. Fool's composure. He calmly finished reading the diary entry and set the page down without haste.
He made the page disappear, then smiled at the Hermit. "What do you want to know?"
Or, more precisely, what did Queen Mystic want to know?
Cattleya asked respectfully, "Honorable Mr. Fool, apart from Emperor Roselle, who else appears in this diary entry?"
Bernadette must have had a special reason for choosing this entry. Cattleya's question stirred the curiosity of everyone at the Tarot Club.
Then they heard the answer.
"Mr. Door."
Klein leaned back in his chair and gave them the name with an air of ease. Before anyone could dwell on it, he turned to Fors with a smile. "You should be familiar with him."
I know Mr. Door?
Fors raised her head sluggishly and looked at Klein in confusion.
The consecutive sleepless nights had taken a heavy toll on Fors's mind. Her thoughts were a muddle, and she could barely think, much less understand Mr. Fool's hint or read into his words.
Fors, you really need to rest...
Klein was at a loss for words. He had meant to use Fors's response to introduce Mr. Door, but in her current state, it was impressive that she hadn't collapsed on the Gray Fog.
"Uh..."
Fors struggled to search her memory. Someone powerful whom she knew, but the others didn't know well... Could it be him?
"Is he the one behind the mutterings during the full moon?"
Fors's voice trembled slightly. When Mr. Fool nodded, she let out a silent breath. She felt she was one step closer to the truth.
The others had their own reactions, but those could wait.
