Gu Hui built Mount Hua, raised his family, and outlived his generation before traveling the martial world and advancing his cultivation. He reunited with Qiao Feng and Duan Yu, uncovered clues to Qiao Feng’s origins, and remained on Thunder Drum Mountain as Wuyazi prepared to pass on his inner power.

• Gu Hui welcomed Dongfang Bai’s daughter Gu Xi and later son Gu Lin, while Mount Hua grew stronger under his leadership and his Nurturing Self Sword Art developed.
• After avenging Mount Hua disciples killed by the Qinghai Water Bandits, Gu Hui established Mount Hua Academy and traveled for years with Dongfang Bai and Gu Xi.
• Gu Hui became Five Mountains Alliance leader, later outlived Dongfang Bai and his fellow elders, and tried to protect A'Jiu amid Great Ming’s collapse before entering the Qing palace to stop Shunzhi’s campaign against the martial sects.
• Gu Hui resumed traveling, learned and adapted martial arts, treated Wang Jiantong, and took the infant Duan Yu to Su Xinghe’s care after rescuing him from Ye Erniang.

Gu Hui rescued Xiao Feng, watched his companions age and die, and continued shaping the martial world across generations. He trained Guo Jing and Mei Chaofeng, helped old rivals reconcile, and left Mei with a new path after curing her blindness.

• Gu Hui buried Wuyazi, learned the truth of Qiao Feng’s Khitan birth, and urged him to question Xuanci about the Yanmen Pass massacre.
• At Shaolin, Gu Hui killed Ding Chunqiu, then stood with Xiao Feng, Xu Zhu, and Duan Yu as they swore brotherhood before the heroes.
• Gu Hui later killed Murong Fu and Duan Yanching, rescued Duan Zhengchun’s party, and revealed that Gu Yu was likely Duan Zhengchun and Kang Min’s son.
• Gu Hui helped Xiao Feng escape imprisonment, then stopped him from killing himself after Xiao Feng forced Yelü Hongji to vow that Liao would not invade Great Song.
• Over the following decades, Gu Hui built his clan’s power, received the Nine Yang and Nine Yin Manuals from Xu Zhu, and cured Wang Chongyang while studying the Primordial Manual.
• Gu Hui trained Guo Jing, gave him the Nine Yang Manual, and helped resolve the conflict between Yang Tiexin, Bao Xiruo, and Wanyan Honglie.
• Gu Hui encouraged Hong Qigong to accept Huang Rong as a disciple, then fled when Wang Chongyang and Lin Chaoying confronted him over his matchmaking schemes.
• Gu Hui rescued Mei Chaofeng from Huang Yaoshi, cured her blindness, rebuilt her damaged internal energy, and made her his medicine child while ordering her to abandon revenge against Guo Jing.

Gu Hui reunited with Mu Nianci, raised their daughter Gu Nian, and guided Yang Guo and the Guos while building Free and Easy Valley as a refuge. After generations passed and Gu Wei died, Gu Hui joined Miejue’s party on its way to Bright Summit, where an ambush began.

• Gu Hui emerged from ten years of seclusion, treated the dying Mu Nianci, and offered to care for her and raise Yang Guo as his own.
• Gu Hui married Mu Nianci, introduced her to the Gu Clan, and later welcomed their daughter Gu Nian before arranging for her to meet Yang Guo.
• Gu Hui reunited with Yang Guo and Little Dragon Girl, revealed the truth about Yang Kang, and helped them settle in the renamed Free and Easy Valley.
• Gu Hui rescued Guo Jing, Huang Rong, and their children from Xiangyang as it fell, then spent the following decades watching the martial world change.
• Gu Hui met Zhang Wuji, intervened to protect Ji Xiaofu and Yang Buhui, and brought Yang Buhui to Mu Nianci at the Ancient Tomb.
• After Gu Wei died, Gu Hui traveled with Miejue’s Emei party toward Bright Summit and revived Jingxu after Wei Yixiao drained her.
• Gu Hui declined Miejue’s request to help attack the Ming Cult, continued toward Bright Summit with Yin Li, Zeng A Niu, and the Emei Sect, and watched Miejue strike at people hiding by the road.

Gu Hui guided the Ming Cult through its siege, then traveled across generations before becoming a ruler in Northern Li. After transforming the realm and reaching the Spirit Wanderer Mysterious Realm, he established the Eastern Depot as the story moved into a new era.

• Zeng A Niu saved the surviving Ming Cult fighters from Miejue, while Gu Hui reached Bright Summit and found Yang Xiao and the other leaders wounded by Cheng Kun.
• Gu Hui healed the Ming Cult leaders, then watched Yin Tianzheng face the Six Great Sects until Yang Buhui challenged Miejue and Guo Xiang exposed the Yuan Court’s scheme.
• Gu Hui and Mu Nianci explored dangerous lands, forged the Yin-Yang Twin Swords, and returned to find Free and Easy Manor changed after thirty years away.
• Gu Hui later found Gu Nian ruling as Empress Dowager, then lived through the rise of Great Ming and died at five hundred and forty, leaving Gu Nian to remember her parents.
• In Northern Li, Gu Hui gave Xiao Ruofeng the Great Shift of the Universe and helped Ye Dingzhi and Yi Wenjun escape their arranged marriage before setting out to travel the realm.
• Gu Hui rescued Yue Ji and took her as his disciple, then returned to Tianqi as Xiao Ruofeng rejected the throne and made Xiao Ruojin emperor.
• Gu Hui welcomed Ye Dingzhi to Tianqi and spent the following years reforming the realm, founding new institutions, and separating military authority from civil rule.
• Gu Hui reached the Spirit Wanderer Mysterious Realm, welcomed Xiao Ruofeng’s family, and established the Eastern Depot after the Shadow Sect collapsed.
