Gu Hui consolidated his power, tested the princes, and returned to rule Northern Li before defeating the forces threatening the realm. After a century, he vanished and began a new life in the Qingyun Sect, where he later set out south and heard reports of mysterious deaths.

• Mingde Emperor appointed Jinxuan to lead the Eastern Depot as Xiao Ruofeng advanced through Southern Jue, while Lei Mengsha killed the Cold Demon who attacked him.
• Jinxuan failed to secure Dark River’s loyalty, and Gu Hui established Heye Medicine Manor with Bai Hehuai as deputy director of the Imperial Medical Academy.
• Gu Hui balanced the princes’ rival claims while Xiao Yu sought support from Ye Anshi and Xiao Chong gathered powerful allies.
• Gu Hui returned from seclusion to stop Xiao Yu’s rebellion, spared him for Yi Wenjun’s sake, and later helped Xiao Chong recover as the Tianzheng Emperor.

Gu Hui strengthened Qingyun Sect, guided its disciples through trials and a Demonic Cult assault, and uncovered the Beast God’s escape from its ancient seal. The Beast God’s corrupted armies reached Qingyun Mountain, where Gu Hui and the Orthodox alliance fought to protect the refugees.

• Gu Hui hunted down evil forces in the Southern Lands, then explored the wilderness, fought the Beast God, and returned to Qingyun Mountain after escaping its ancient cave.
• Gu Hui helped Qingyun Sect grow, welcomed Gu Lin, Gu Xi, and Dongfang Bai as disciples, and exposed Cangsong’s past before assigning him to Longshou Peak.
• Gu Hui recognized Lin Jingyu and Zhang Xiaofan among the Caomiao Village survivors and admitted them to Qingyun Sect after a Demonic Cult attack.
• Daoxuan oversaw the Seven Peaks Martial Arts Tournament, where Zhang Xiaofan and Lu Xueqi fought to a draw and Qi Hao won the final challenge matches.
• Gu Hui and Qingyun Sect repelled a major Demonic Cult assault with the Zhu Xian Sword, then Gu Hui gave Zhang Xiaofan the three volumes of the Heavenly Book and urged him to gain experience beyond the mountain.
• Gu Hui sent disciples to investigate the Death Swamp and Southern Border, while Gu Lin helped Xiao Bai escape her underground prison as the Earthfire destroyed the altar.
• After traitors shattered the Demon-Suppressing Ancient Cave’s seal and the Beast God emerged, Gu Hui rallied the Orthodox alliance to defend Qingyun Mountain and the fleeing refugees.
• As the Beast God’s tide overwhelmed the mountain defenses, Gu Hui, Venerable Puhong, Yun Yilan, and other experts began fighting its Destruction Avatar.

After ascending to a new world, Gu Hui founded Great Tang with Fuzi and spent centuries building its people and institutions while Haotian’s threat loomed. As Eternal Night approached, Li Wei’s battle with Liansheng Thirty-Two left their conflict escalating at the East Sea.

• Gu Hui defeated the Beast God's avatar, then Zhang Xiaofan left Qingyun to wander the devastated lands.
• Zhang Xiaofan reached the peak of Taiqing while Wan Renwang summoned Shura, which Gu Hui sealed and imprisoned in Huanyue Cave Abode.
• After more than a century, Gu Hui ascended, and Dongfang Bai revealed their past life together before she and others later ascended as well.
• Reborn in another world, Gu Hui joined Fuzi, founded Great Tang, and helped establish Chang'an City and its protective formation.
• Gu Hui explored the Return Ruins, obtained Life Source Water, and developed his sword Dao while Great Tang grew under Emperor Chonghe.
• Emperor Chonghe defeated Xiling's Hierarch, seized Xiling's wealth, and read the remaining volumes of the Heavenly Book at Zhishou Abbey.

Gu Hui confronted Haotian as the Academy and Great Tang entered a world-spanning conflict, ending with Haotian’s defeat and the unification of the world. Centuries later, Gu Hui left the Haotian World and entered a weakened secret realm beneath Sound Valley.

• Li Wei killed Liansheng Thirty-Two, met Master Qishan, and returned to Chang'an before joining the Academy’s gathering as Gu Wei.
• Ke Haoran broke through to the Haoran Realm, while Gu Hui and the other hidden imperial family members completed their Lightning Tribulations and drove back Haotian’s forces.
• Gu Hui rescued Ning Xian’s family, crippled Xia Hou, destroyed Xiling’s forces on Peach Mountain, and revealed his identity and the hidden Imperial Family to Li Zhongyi and Li Yu.
• Ning Que passed the Second Floor’s trials and joined the Academy, while Wei Guangming chose Sang Sang as his student and taught her Haotian Divine Radiance.
• After Sang Sang’s power of the Underworld King awakened, Gu Hui entered her consciousness, sealed Haotian within her, and later joined Fuzi, Ke Haoran, and the others in the Divine Kingdom.
• Tang’s armies and the Academy attacked Xiling, while Ning Que and Yan Se led people across Tang in a human-world talisman that broke Haotian’s Divine Kingdom.
• Gu Hui stripped Haotian of her Godhead and destroyed it, after which Great Tang unified the world and Fuzi, Ke Haoran, and other cultivators departed for the Endless Starry Sky.
• Several hundred years later, Gu Hui left the Haotian World with Mu Nianci, explored Sound Valley, and opened a rift into an ancient, weakened secret realm.
