Inside the Hokage Building, the bandage-wrapped wage slave Danzo said to Hiruzen Sarutobi,
"Hiruzen, that Karot sure is impressive. He issued orders in your place as Hokage."
Danzo shamelessly fanned the flames in front of Hiruzen Sarutobi. Karot had put far too much pressure on him, and now he desperately needed to cut Karot down to size.
"That's enough, Danzo. Karot did it for the good of the village. The other villages have been allowed to get away with too much. It's time we taught them a lesson."
Hiruzen Sarutobi sat as still as a meditating monk, showing no reaction. Karot's momentum was unstoppable; there was no holding him back. Hiruzen would soon have to hand over his position as Hokage. He still wanted to step down with some dignity.
"You'll regret this, Hiruzen."
Seeing that Hiruzen Sarutobi had no intention of cooperating with him, Danzo could only run his mouth.
"Danzo, put aside your little schemes. That way, you might still be able to hold on to your power."
Hiruzen Sarutobi advised him. Karot and Orochimaru were both the sort who couldn't stand the slightest bit of sand in their eyes. If Danzo tripped them up now, once they held power, they'd crush him.
Actually, Hiruzen Sarutobi was still mistaken. Karot wanted to kill Danzo right now.
Meanwhile, Karot was on the road he always took home when three ninja suddenly surrounded him.
"Hatake Karot, prepare to die!"
They wasted no time with words. Their intentions were clear from the start: they wanted Karot dead. He hadn't expected to be hunted down by enemies one day. It seemed he hadn't gone far enough—he hadn't made sure the whole family went together to reunite in the Pure Land.
Karot fired three beams of Ki from his fingers.
"Pew, pew, pew."
