The Wine-Baited Blood Ginseng

Ye Kang's brows twitched.

Well, would you look at that. The system had actually issued a quest. This thing must be really hard to catch.

Ye Kang crouched and poked at the damp soil beneath the medicinal herbs.

The soil was fertile and brimming with spiritual energy. The herbs growing in it also gave off a fresh fragrance that soothed the mind.

He tested one of the spirit herbs. It didn't move at all, so clearly it wasn't the blood ginseng.

He didn't plan to waste any time. Azure Intent surfaced in his eyes as his divine ability, Wu Wang Azure Pupil, activated.

The Azure Pupil opened wide, dispelling illusions and seeing through confusion.

But the blood ginseng wasn't an illusion. It was a spiritual creature, and he wasn't sure whether the ability would work on it.

He rose and scanned his surroundings. His Azure Pupil swept across the area as his divine sense searched alongside it, leaving no movement unnoticed.

A moment later, a weed in the field ridge to his left suddenly trembled. It seemed to have sensed Ye Kang's gaze and grown terribly curious.

Ye Kang's heart stirred. He leaped over and thrust one hand into the soil, grabbing at it.

Whoosh!

Spiritual light flashed. A ginseng root suddenly shot out, then dropped back into the earth and vanished.

"So fast!"

Ye Kang was slightly taken aback. He hadn't expected to underestimate the blood ginseng after all—it could even outpace him.

He looked again with Wu Wang Azure Pupil, but this time there wasn't the slightest movement.

The entire Medicine Garden was perfectly still, without a sound.

Sure enough, after realizing Ye Kang had a divine ability, the blood ginseng didn't dare act up. It simply stayed motionless.

It wasn't an illusion in the first place, and
