Sibyl eyed the Imperial noble before her suspiciously.
After her conversation with Rowan had ended, she had swiftly crossed the battlefield at his command to find Commissar Yarrick.
However, she hadn't expected to make an unexpected discovery as well.
As an Inquisitor who had undergone professional training, Sibyl had exceptionally sharp instincts.
She could tell that although the noble before her seemed calm on the surface, he was actually extremely nervous. Sibyl could judge as much from his gaze and microexpressions.
There was definitely something fishy going on!
Why else would he be so nervous?
Still, she had to finish her task first.
Sibyl turned and said, "Commissar Yarrick, Lord Rowan has something to discuss with you. He needs you to go see him."
"Lord Rowan wants to see me?"
A puzzled look appeared on Yarrick's face.
He couldn't imagine why such an important person would take an interest in a mere Imperial Commissar like him.
But that was just how Yarrick was. He didn't ask questions, simply nodding decisively before calling over a few Astra Militarum soldiers who had been standing guard in the distance. Together, they set off in the direction Sibyl had indicated.
Once the Commissar had left, Sibyl turned her gaze back to the Imperial noble, who was now drenched in sweat.
"I'm sorry. I was in the wrong."
The Imperial noble managed to force a smile. "But, my dear lady, whose name I don't know, as a noble Inquisitor, surely you wouldn't concern yourself with these trivial political games? It's a small matter."
"A small matter? That remains to be seen."
Sibyl narrowed her eyes.
The fear radiating from this man was unmistakable. He was definitely hiding something important.
However, she had no intention of wasting time and effort interrogating him.
