Chenxing Sect Elder

You Lian was a Heavenly Immortal Elder of the Chenxing Sect and Ling Weiyan's master. She had entered a secret realm more than three hundred years before Ling Weiyan's later conflicts at the sect and had not returned, leaving her fate unknown. Ling Weiyan regarded her instructions as absolute because You Lian treated her like a daughter. 162 171

Ancient Star Dome and Reincarnation

You Lian reappeared in the Ancient Star Dome after escaping a humanoid, axe-wielding being that slaughtered Heavenly Immortals and fierce beasts for their Dao essence. She lost an arm and suffered grave internal injuries during her escape, but still retained formidable Spiritual Power. 205

She recognized Chen Ming's connection to Ling Weiyan after examining the Sun, Moon, and Star Sword Array within his White Bone Jade Bottle—a formation whose details she had helped Ling Weiyan refine. Her first concern was whether Ling Weiyan had safely advanced toward the Heavenly Immortal realm. 205

When the Spirit of World Transformation attacked, You Lian, Chen Ming, and Mu Tianxie attempted to resist it. Chen Ming survived through the Creation Lotus Platform, while You Lian and Mu Tianxie were transformed into beings of the newly evolved Xuanming Realm. 206 207

Life and Death Heavenly Monarch

After reincarnation, You Lian retained aspects of her former appearance and temperament but lost her memories. She retained a seven-stringed zither and developed a working relationship with Mu Tianxie, whose reincarnated form had settled near hers. 208

When an envoy of the Sunlight Divine Palace attempted to conscript them, You Lian used her music to delay him, then fled with Mu Tianxie before the effect wore off. 208

Creation of Mortal Life

Seeking to complete the Xuanming Realm's cycle of life and death, You Lian borrowed Sun, Moon, and Star Divine Light from Lingyu and used a piece of earth imbued with Earth Dao Vitality. She dissolved the soil, shaped it into human forms, and gave them the breath of life, creating rapidly reproducing mortal tribes capable of cultivation. 235

This act caused the Xuanming Realm's Dynastic Fortune to descend upon her spontaneously. The resulting merit restored her memories, allowing her to recognize the Xuanming Realm's true nature and Chen Ming's control over it. 235 236

Chen Ming offered her the Starry Sky Ancient Road and the chance to leave. Knowing that her Life and Death Dao Rhyme originated from Chen Ming and could not be taken beyond the realm, You Lian instead chose to remain and pledged to work for him. 237

Return to the Tianxuan Realm

Chen Ming later erased the memories of You Lian and the other Heavenly Monarchs. He subsequently created a new body identical to her original Tianxuan Realm form and implanted a false memory: that Chen Ming had rescued her and Mu Tianxie from the Ancient Star Dome and returned them through the Void Disk. 241 260
