The Sword Sect's plans

After listening, Elder Shi fell silent for a moment, then broke into an involuntary chuckle.

He shook his head and sighed. "The Sword Sect..."

He looked into the distance, reminiscence and emotion in his eyes. "Once, their glory was unparalleled. Eighth Turn experts emerged one after another, and their might shook the world.

"But even the most glorious sect cannot withstand the mighty power of time.

"Now their old generation has no worthy successors, and they've actually come to our Three Origins Sect to poach talent."

He withdrew his gaze and looked at Li Xiao, the amusement in his eyes growing gentler.

"But this also proves that your potential is truly extraordinary.

"The Sword Sect may have declined, but their eye for talent is still razor-sharp."

Elder Shi's tone turned serious again. "But you must not look down on the people of this world because of it.

"The world's heroes are as numerous as carp crossing a river, and beyond every mountain stands one higher still.

"Only by guarding against arrogance and impatience, tempering yourself as you press onward, can you reach the true summit."

Li Xiao nodded respectfully. "I will keep your teachings firmly in mind, Master."

Elder Shi looked at him, his gaze deepening. Staring straight into his eyes, he asked, each word distinct:

"Then what do you think of it yourself?"

Li Xiao met his master's gaze without flinching.

He fell silent for a moment before speaking slowly, his tone solemn and firm.

"My foundations are all here in the Three Origins Sect.

"Without the Three Origins Sect's protection, I would have died long ago.

"My cultivation methods, my opportunities, my connections—all of them came from the sect.

"In life, I belong to the Three Origins Sect. In death, I will be its ghost."
