Lin Zhu guided Tang Sanzang toward a break with orthodox Buddhism and helped Sun Wukong escape Five Elements Mountain. After Sun Wukong killed Tang Sanzang and joined Lin Zhu against Western Heaven, the Buddhist army was routed, but Yaoshi Buddha’s attack left Lin Zhu and Sun Wukong trapped behind a failing defense.

• Lord Xiongshan and General Yin tortured Tang Sanzang and killed Monk Lu before the Five Directions Attendants intervened, prompting Tang to accuse them of abandoning his companions.
• Lin Zhu restored Tang Sanzang’s severed finger and challenged his understanding of Buddhism, leading Tang to embrace wine and meat and spread his new teachings in Liu Family Village.
• Lin Zhu met Sun Wukong beneath Five Elements Mountain, strengthened him with a Yellow Center Plum, and told him he would soon be freed to escort the Scripture Seeker.
• Tang Sanzang freed Sun Wukong by removing the Six-Syllable Golden Talisman, but Sun Wukong struck him dead and escaped the Buddhist Sect’s control.
• Lin Zhu defended Sun Wukong against Western Heaven’s forces, and the two fought the Buddhist army as Sun Wukong broke through to the Grand Luo Golden Immortal realm.
• Sun Wukong devastated the Buddhist army while Lin Zhu defeated Guanyin and the Immovable Wisdom King, then killed the Immovable Wisdom King despite Yaoshi Buddha’s pleas.
• Lin Zhu announced that he would take Sun Wukong to the Ninth Heaven Prison, and Yaoshi Buddha backed down when Lin Zhu empowered his God-Slaying Spear with the Heavenly Origin Demonic Stone.
• After Lin Zhu and Sun Wukong prepared to leave, Yaoshi Buddha unleashed Glazed Illusionary Light that killed Liu Boqin, his family, and the villagers, while Lin Zhu struggled to shield himself and Sun Wukong.

Lin Zhu protected Great Tang from Western Heaven’s attack, revived Yuchi Gong, and helped Li Shimin prepare for war. As the armies clashed, Indra killed Li Jing, then learned that Li Jing may truly have been Ran Deng’s disciple.

• The Jade Emperor rescued Lin Zhu and Sun Wukong from Yaoshi Buddha’s Glazed Illusionary Light, then Lin Zhu took Sun Wukong to the Ninth Heaven Prison.
• Lin Zhu broke through to perfected Half-step Quasi-Saint and learned that Western Heaven had sent Li Jing to demand Sun Wukong’s release and a Nine Revolutions Great Return Pill.
• After White Lotus Boy attacked Great Tang and killed Yuchi Gong, Lin Zhu destroyed White Lotus Boy’s body and spent fifty thousand Merit to restore Yuchi Gong to life.
• Li Shimin prepared Great Tang for war against Tianzhu, and Lin Zhu urged him to resist those who treated living beings as pawns.
• Lin Zhu sent Li Jing to test the Tianzhu army, but White Lotus Boy’s trap captured him and Indra tortured him until his True Spirit was extinguished.
• Lin Zhu sounded a funeral procession for Li Jing and returned with Nezha to Wind Snow City while Indra declined to pursue them.
• Indra boasted of killing Li Jing, then Wrathful Victory Ming King and Vajra Yaksha Bright King warned him that Li Jing may have been Ran Deng’s disciple.

Great Tang repelled Tianzhu’s invasion, but White Lotus Boy killed Ao Lie and destroyed his primordial spirit, provoking the Dragon Clan to confront Western Heaven. The Haotian Mirror exposed Lin Zhu’s efforts to save Ao Lie and White Lotus Boy’s crime, leaving the Dragon Clan attacking Amitabha as Lin Zhu called for the remaining footage to be examined.

• Yuchi Gong and the hidden defenders of Wind Snow City routed Tianzhu’s rear assault, while Daoist Huaxia buried more than two hundred thousand soldiers and Great Tang claimed its first victory.
• Lin Zhu refused Ao Lie’s request to fight, but Ao Lie went to the front lines and challenged Indra before Lin Zhu rescued him from Indra’s grasp.
• White Lotus Boy seized Ao Lie, killed him, and crushed his primordial spirit despite Lin Zhu’s pleas, awakening the Dragon Clan and prompting nine dragons to confront Western Heaven.
• Amitabha brought White Lotus Boy and the battlefield forces to Spirit Mountain, where the Dragon Clan demanded justice and the Jade Emperor arrived to defend Lin Zhu and the Heavenly Court’s authority.
• Amitabha and Tathagata accused Lin Zhu of sending Ao Lie into battle, but Lin Zhu refused their offer of refuge and demanded that the Jade Emperor use the Haotian Mirror to reveal the truth.
• The Haotian Mirror showed Ao Lie choosing to fight for redemption, Lin Zhu trying to save him, and White Lotus Boy killing him and destroying his primordial spirit.
• The Purple Gold Dragon Emperor and Platinum Dragon Emperor attacked Amitabha, while Lin Zhu interrupted the clash and proposed watching the rest of the mirror’s footage.

Lin Zhu exploited the Dragon Clan’s assault on Western Heaven to seize treasures and Merit Divine Water, then negotiated Ao Lie’s return in exchange for Western Heaven’s resources. After restoring Ao Lie and leaving White Lotus Boy’s fate in his hands, Lin Zhu agreed to sell Tathagata a pill for a further payment.

• Lin Zhu used the Haotian Mirror to expose White Lotus Boy’s attack on Ao Lie, prompting the Dragon Clan to assault Spirit Mountain.
• Lin Zhu secretly pursued White Lotus Boy, took the Azure Lotus Precious Color Flag and Cold Moon Immortal Slaying Saber, then searched the Great Thunderclap Monastery for hidden treasures.
• Lin Zhu stripped the Eight Thousand Zhang Wish-Fulfilling Corridor and persuaded Akshobhya Buddha to help him take Merit Divine Water, Spirit Source Agate, and other treasures from the Eight Treasures Merit Pool.
• Lin Zhu captured the fleeing White Lotus Boy and claimed he could restore Ao Lie’s Primordial Spirit, then demanded extensive compensation from Amitabha to prevent the Dragon Clan from resuming its attack.

• Lin Zhu revealed Ao Lie’s intact Primordial Spirit, and the Dragon Clan welcomed Ao Lie back before giving Lin Zhu three pieces of Primordial Ancestral Beast Bloodline Essence.
• Lin Zhu left White Lotus Boy’s fate unresolved after the Dragon Clan deferred to him, then agreed to sell Tathagata a Nine Revolutions Great Return Pill for treasures, merit vow power, and three Bodhisattvas’ mounts.
