At first, Xingyan still had enough energy to slurp at the melting ceiling. "At first" was putting it generously, though—the temperature had risen in less than two seconds.
It was a heat even a Fire Attribute Monster like Xingyan couldn't endure. He didn't even dare burrow deeper underground. The rocks around him were heating up at a visibly rapid pace, turning dark red, then bright red, then yellow.
No one could say how much seawater Teostra's last supernova had evaporated, but it was easy to see how much rock and earth he had melted this time.
Before the cave he was hiding in could melt completely into a lake of lava, Xingyan scrambled out. He stared, dumbfounded, at the bare landscape around him. It was as if Teostra had flattened the entire surface; there were no more hills or rocky outcrops.
There were no more canyons or caves, either. Nothing remained but lava, glowing a dim orange-red.
The area within a little over a kilometer of Teostra had already become a lake of lava. The closer you got, the brighter it became. The force of the supernova had pushed the lava outward in layers, and now it was slowly flowing back, like ripples.
With his unobstructed view, Xingyan could see even farther. Teostra hadn't turned every place several kilometers away into a lava lake, but the closer surface rocks had indeed been scorched red.
Needless to say, the already meager vegetation in the southern Great Sand Sea had taken another blow. The new shoots that had struggled to grow after the Locust Plague had withered and died in the heat, some even burned to ash.
It was incredibly difficult for ordinary life to survive in this world.
Two black specks in the sky were rapidly growing larger. After scanning the
